Newby question about miraak
Soo I googled about it and ... is it true that you should play the Miraak storyline much later? And is this the end of the main story? And that you have to be at least lvl 60+?

I started Skyrim a week ago when the special edition was on sale and love it. Had so many funny encounters the last few days. However, after being constantly distracted and discovering new things I thought I'd continue the main story which led to miraak stealing my dragon souls? Xx
Had problems before because I'm often encountered dragons in the Citys so far and was so pissed when miraak has stolen me 3 souls in a row xD. But have read that if you kill him that logically stopped, but he should be pretty strong and the main quest is over with it?

Play as a small thieve, now lvl 35. I do good sneak damage but otherwise rather meh, because I rarely had to fight directly. Can you still manage the fight? I am a little afraid to get into a death-loop and waste time for something where I am still much too weak for ^^".
Especially because I hardly ever use the shouts anyway.

Never played against Miraak myself as I need to do another playthrough with it installed.
But from googling like you did, defeating Miraak finishes the "Dragonborn" (DLC) quest not the main "Alduin" quest.
And I would say from all I have read on google, a sneak type character as it sounds you have would need to be at least 10+ levels higher to stand a chance.
I would recommend to let him keep the damn souls and complete the main quest and civil war quest.

Ahh i see, thougt this was the main quest. Then i will ignore him a bit and will continue to discover skyrim :).

The Dragonborn DLC is meant for a character of at least level 30. Note that parts of it force you into an open combat situation, so you need to be able to handle that before you do it. Parts of it may not be doable if you're too reliant on stealth. Just make sure you can dual bosses in a straight fight (no stealth) before you attempt it. As a stealth character, you always need a back-up plan anyway for when you get caught.

As for how hard the DLC is, there's a generic enemy you'll run into ALL THE TIME, which has stats comparable to giants, and they often attack you in swarms (some dungeons even use them as generic enemies). Oh, and they tend to ambush you out in the wilderness. So you need to make sure you can easily handle giants in an actual fight before you even consider going to the island. Though if you've already started the quest, and have had Miraak steal three souls from you, I would guess you've already met the enemies I'm talking about.

If you want dragon souls btw, just go back to the mainland. I don't think Miraak will steal dragon souls from you unless you're on the island. That's what I did when I got this shout that's necessary to finish the questline, but didn't have any dragon souls to unlock it at the time (thanks to Miraak, obviously).

Nope, if you do not mean the cultists who are relatively easy to fight with the bow, I have not yet met anything. I have solstheim also not explored much yet, or do you meet them now also in Himmelsrand (sorry do not know the English name, the main island)? xx
I already had the feeling when I climbed the mountain to the Greybeards that I should not be there yet, because I had to find some ways not to be killed constantly by super strong wolves and trolls ... should have trusted my instincts xx.

The island is called Solstheim. The name Himmelsrand looks to be a translation of Skyrim. Sadly for you, my German's too rusty to type all this auf Deutsch. Bitte. I really need to get back to studying it.

As for the enemies I'm talking about, you should've run into them pretty early on if you've been to Solstheim and have had Miraak steal dragon souls from you. They're called 'ash spawn' (in the English version) if you need a hint as to what I'm talking about.

And yeah, if you can't even handle wolves and trolls in open combat, you really shouldn't be doing the Dragonborn questline.

As for what we're talking about, you seem to have the main questline and the dragonborn questline confused. Those cultists you encountered are what starts the dragonborn questline, which is distinct from the one for the greybeards (which is normally called the main questline). The reason the cultists' quest is called Drabonborn is because it came with the Dragonborn expansion (they weren't originally a part of the game). The main questline came with the original game. As for how you could get them confused, those cultists are programmed to come and start the questline after you've visited the greybeards. I would take a wild guess and say you ran into them at the village at the bottom of the mountain the Greybeards live on? That's where I run into them most often. They can technically appear anywhere, but since they come looking for you as soon as you've talked to the greybeards its almost always in Ivarstead. The only way that can not happen is if you installed the DLC in the middle of your playthrough, which the developers seem to have intended for some reason.

Nope, I have strangely enough not encountered them. Had so far only the temple-quest where I had touched the Black Book~. After that I went to sell stuff and ... was distracted again in Skyrim(makes sense that this is the name xD, somehow I was unsure in my head whether the name of the game can really be the name of the world. I'm Lore-like absolutely not in it).

I met the cultists the first time actually in Whiterun after the Greybeards, because I have my house there and as always wanted to teleport there to store my things or to sell and both guys were then killed by the guards xD.

Was super surprising because I didn't know that you could be attacked even inside cities. Had to learn that later the hard way with a dragon that has killed Alvor because he wanted to play the Hero with his fists ~~.
I just loaded a save from yesterday.Have thereby lost a bit of progress. But somehow I don't like the idea of being surprised by even more hitmen than already without ^^''.

Thanks for the Help :D

As an stealthy archer i would advice to get in to alchemy for bosses.
For most bigger foes that are not dragons you can make a potion that can help out to even the odds.
Just mix Canis root + imp stool. there are more things that make the same effect but these are easy to find (in the wild and stores) and can be planted in the hearthfire houses.

Thank you for this tipp. I already use a lot of gift- and buff-potions and love to collect things, so this fits perfectly :).

I'll be honest, I never delved much into alchemy. The only time I ever really used it was my very first playthrough, and I just used it to craft health pots for myself, and later fortify smithing and enchanting potions. The only other time I ever leveled alchemy was for the latter reasons, since I was now good enough to not require an excessive number of healing potions, and every food item in the game, and despite all that still die all the time anyway. I really need to explore it I think, but I just don't know how to incorporate it into a build. Its just sorta its own thing thematically, so its not as easy to incorporate into a build as smithing or enchanting.

Since I play 99% on bow, things like frost resistance are incredibly handy~. Poison potions and paralysis potions I use all the time, because I can kill even heavier enemies quickly without them even noticing me :''D.
Healing potions I actually use rarely and I've been thinking about selling the stamina potions but always have the feeling I can use them maybe sometimes xD. However, I have at some point really started to sort my potions and everything, because I had partly 100+ weight only of potions I did not want to sell xD ...
but I'm not very far into the game yet either. Have read that potions later 80+ are no longer particularly effective. But I'll see for myself :).
