Followers keep dying.
My follower keeps dying all the time, even on novice difficulty with really good armour equipped. Anyone know if there are any console commands or a Steam workshop mod to give all followers unlimited health? I've tried searching but couldn't find anything. Thanks!

UPDATED DISCUSSION:

The console command "forceav health 5000" when you click on a follower and typing in the code worked for me as well as changing the difficulty to legendary. Thank you everyone for helping me out. My problem is fixed.

I also want to point out that followers are affected by difficultly the same way every other npc is, they are weaker on lower difficulties and stronger on higher ones.

Also, the vast majority of followers are "protected" which means they go down instead of dying right away. They only die if hit in that state, which enemies no longer target. Are sure you are not accidentally hitting your followers?

Makes sense. I never hit my followers, I do my best not to anyway. I remember back then years ago when I first started Skyrim, Meeko, the follower dog dies so quickly. It's too easy to kill Meeko by accident because he get's right in your way lol.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't even know about that, the whole time I've played Skyrim, I never knew...the difficulty settings affecting the followers. Well, I hope it doesn't happen again, I'll keep multiple saves and back up's more often. I'll have to see which difficulty setting is best for my followers.

Why are you killing them? Followers can't be killed by enemies, they can only die if you hit them while they are downed. Even just unrelenting force can kill them.

They can, it's just unlikely. It wouldn't be a common occurrence though.
