Lisette and Barbus then traveled back to Whiterun to sell items and then it was back to Riverside Lodge. Rainy sad day without their former companion though.

It was time to regroup and recharge at Riverside Lodge. This is a pretty amazing player home. Not too large, not too small, and you can configure it the way you want it. I disabled auto storage and opted for the Libarary and larger Hoarder's amory to display faction armor sets. It features very logical storage and I have enough chests to organize armor and weapons based on type. Found out that the saune gives the Well-rested bonus, even if you are not sleeping and at any time of the day. It is Hearthfire compatible and features an oven. It does allow for children and spouse, but I have to install another mod for that, and I'd rather not.
Now upon exiting her lovely home, Lisette and Barbus are attacked by a dragon. Did I mention that the house is near a spawn point?

Because I've had to restart this build a few times, I'm not moving as fast with the Companions questline. I just did it, so I need a break before I plunge into it again. So, Lisette is spending some time just enjoying random adventures in the Rift and the area near Helgen. Barbus does not get stuck nearly as much as Stray Dog did and is a worthy companion. Discovered another new pass near Helgen that had bandits and spiders, Autumn Watch tower, and cleared Angarvunde. That was a challenge as Lisette and Barbus were separated for most of the dungeon. Lisette also started Kyne's sacred trials and caught up with Haming, who had also escaped Helgen. But the bestest, bestest thing was clearing Arcwind Point. Yep, Lisette and Barbus took on Draugr Deathlords and won, earning an ebony waraxe at level 14. Wooohooo!
All is not sunshine and unicorn rainbow farts however. I'm experiencing some CTD. Sometimes it happens after I launch the game too soon after booting Windows. My Alienware software has a pop screen and sometimes that messes up Skyrim enough for it to minimize or crash. I did have problems with my computer lately (had to replace a lot of it before we learned it was probably defective RAM). It's working fine now, but Skyrim does crash more often than it used to. My mod load order may have something to do with it as well and this is my first experience with ENB, so BOSS may be in my future. I need to do a BIOS update, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I verified the game cashe and that seems to have fixed the issue, but I know I should do more. I'm just extremely lazy. Haha, save more often. I have Wyrmstooth installed and I'm hoping this doesn't mess with my Winterhold quest. I remember being able to do both on a build in the past, so I think the problem with the Mage's guild was either a random bug, or Sjel Blad castle, which was also the mod running when I couldn't progress beyond Hitting the books. No way to know until I start the Mage's questline and that won't be for a while. Skyrim is bugged when you play Vanilla too, and I've done these quests multiple times already.
Thanks for looking. :)
Yeah, you do. Updates on your thread are missed and I'm nowhere near as good a story teller as you are.
PS: just got Volendrung. Tip for low level players where giants may be iffy. You don't have to fight all the giants, just the main one, so just walk past those that appear in the cave. They won't aggro, unless you're really stupid. Talk to Yamarz when in the grotto, he'll ask you to kill the giant. Agree to it. I know, weird, but... If he tries to kill the giant on his own, he'll die in seconds, leaving you to fight it on your own. If you agree to do it, he reverts back to essential status and waits. Go aggro the giant, and run right back to Yamarz, he'll now help you out with the giant and not die. Tehehehehehehe... Then, of course, you must fight Yamarz when the giant is dead, but Yamarz is way super easier than the giant would've been by yourself. The dude is a lying cheat anyway, I felt justified.
Once upon a playthrough I had a stray dog too.
I found Mercurio in Riften. He said "why just kill your enemies when you can roast them alive in a gout of arcan fire" and I was <3 <3<3 <3 <3
So I married him.
We were questing and picked up a stray dog :D
Then he killed it >:( Bastard. I should have known though :(
So I sacrificed him to Boetiah and have never hired him since. Or picked up another dog.
I also try to avoid Meekos shack, as I feel I cant leave him there. And then I have to get a kid so he can live in my house and then I have to restart becauseI dont think a kid would suit my character. Ugh.
Haha, well I'm not without my own computer issues, but it's not so bad and I can usually solve some issues on my own. Speaking of which, I verified my game cache and whamoo! There we have it. There was a file that was missing. Downloaded that and things got better. Not saying I don't need BOSS, I do. I'd like to try to make load order work on my own first though. Obviously it's working as I can load the game and play, but perhaps it is not optimized. I've had really good experiences with Steam doing it on my own and I've order almost 100 mods on my own. Tedious, but you learn how mods work this way. Besides if BOSS or LOOT fails, where are you then?
In my first playthrough, I married Marcurio as well. We lived happily at Lakeview with our two kids until one day the bandits came. Marcurio was kidnapped and I received a ransom note. Off to Embershard. Marcurio as a follower was a bad**s in complete dwarven magic god armor and could kill dragons, yet somehow a teeeeny group of bandits gave him trouble. I guess one gets lazy with married life. So I rescue him, but I think he was scarred. He started to sleep under the bed and walk backwards. I think the bandits did "things" to him. I love doggies, but they kept dying, so I went and got a mod that made them essential. Yay! Horsies too. On to the peechurs...
This was at Giant's grove. The ENB makes things quite dark, not ridiculous dark, but dark. Lisette uses torches at times and has learned to use them to her advantage. For some reason they don't burn out on this playthrough. I think perhaps RLO makes them permanent? I need to reread a few mod descriptions.

Double dragons! I explained previously about the whole Riften Thane bug I had which forced me to an earlier save. So now I'm doing this in a different order. Helping people first, then doing bounties, then finally I'll do the skooma quest. Usually this takes care of the bug. So Lisette's first bounty for Riften was the dragon at Lost Tongue Overlook. A dragon spawned en route and then the target dragon joined in. Interesting battle. One was frost, the other fire. Lisette has 60% spell absorption (Advanced Atronach), so their damage wasn't too bad. Dragons are dispatched almost exclusively with mounted ranged attacks.

A day at town. This is an RP build. She eats, she sleeps, and tends not to travel at night. When not on her way doing work for the Companions or another faction, questing, or doing bounties, she doesn't wear armor. She goes around in normal clothes. It presents challenges due to random encounters, but her home is very close to Whiterun, so the damage is minimal. A dragon has not yet spawned when she's been dressed like this. Weapons are still carried. Barbas has been great so far. Yes, he gets in the way, but any shortcomings are offset by his invinsibility, his power, and his supreme ability to tank. Originally, it seems he had additional dialogue that fits a follower, so I wonder if he was intended to be a permanent follower and then the idea was nixed. I wonder if the Unofficial Skyrim Patch addresses this?

Like I said, Riverside Lodge is right at a Dragon spawn point. The attacks usually happen in the morning, right when Lisette leaves to go on adventures for the day. Way to get the juices going! Unfortunately, because this is right now a no-crafting build, dragon bones are usually sold. There's a point where they start stock piling. When things are done, Lisette may take up smithing, but I don't see that happening until all other skills are maxed out first.

Stormy day at Whiterun. I cannot praise COT enough. It is an exceptional mod.

Thanks for looking. :)
You're not doing too badly at storytelling, you know! You just don't ramble on as long as I do ;)
Yeah, I think Barbas is under appreciated. If you have dogs, which I do, you sort of get the whole "underfoot" business. I just avoid cliff edges. In my entire time using him, which has spanned several playthroughs already, he has only pushed me off once.
Oh, you're better at it. You characters are more interesting. Mine is really just a tale of a girl and her daedric dog. Lisette did encounter two interesting people in her travels though. While passing the hotsprings on the way back from the Atronach stone (68% spell absorption now), she came across Iris the Elder, an old courier. Some of the voice acting in INPCs is pretty bad, but some of them are very good and she was one of them. I exhausted all of the "nice" dialogue options. What a story she told and a brave woman. The next encounter was in the Abandoned prison, Fjona's familiar. Lisette must now try to look for Fjona. There was also a Maurice Jondelle, he wanted to accompany Lisette and Barbas to the Eldergleam Sanctuary. Unfortunately, he was killed when he foolishly tried to take on the Bandits of Valtheim Keep without weapons. Lisette can be foolhardy, but to rush into a bandit camp without weapons? Uh... no.
So Lisette and Barbas made it to the Eldergleam and obtained a sample of its sap to repair the Gildegreen in Whiterun. Spriggans! Then, since she was in the area, she also investigated a group of conjurers at Fort Amol. Came away with an amazing new spell tome. Evidently weapons can also be conjured? As a weapon's expert she must investigate, but her magic skills are not the strongest. Perhaps there is a place in Skyrim where she can learn? She will ask the wizard at Dragonsreach. Yes, for this playthrough, there needs to be motivation to join each faction. The Companions were easiest, the DB and the TG will be the most difficult.
After Fort Amol, she and Barbas continued traveling North along the river and stumbled across an abandoned prison. Barbas could not cross the rapids, so Lisette went into the prison alone and came out with some good loot. Then there was the trip back to Whiterun, which was not without its suprises. DRAGON! After dropping off her loot at Riverside and changing into her clothes, she went to town and sold some items. Skjor spoke to her and asked her to meet him and Aela underneath the Skyforge at night. Sensing that they would have an important task, she returned to Riverside and donned her wolf armor. Of course, we all know what happens next. Suffice to say, she already has about 2 perks in the werewolf tree and has the Ring of Hircine. Her stats also look good; 180 health, 170 stamina, 168 magicka because of the Advanced Atronach. She is at 50 in one-handed, 45 in archery, 32 in block, and 34 in heavy armor. Through skill books, her light armor is 19, and her two handed is 17. Conjuration went up to 26. Speech and lock picking are also in the 30s. Even smithing is up to 20 without smithing a single thing, just skill books.
Finally, here is a neat picture of the Eldergleam tree.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=264925146
Thanks for looking. Plans for today include striking at the Silverhand, and traveling North to Dawnstar. Time to check out the Norther part of Skyrim.
Tip: to perk your werewolf efficiently, grab the ring of Hircine early in your skyrim adventures. Once you acquire Beast form, equip the ring. You will have unlimited transformations as long as you equip the ring. What I usually do is go on a bandit raid as my normal character because I'm still leveling some skills, then back track the location in Beast form, feasting as I go. Head up the right side of the tree first, to get gorging, then, beef up your strength, then up the far left side of the tree for the Toten of the Brotherhood perks.
A lot was done. After the healing the Gildergreen, Lisette and Barbas headed North to Fort Fellhammer, near Dawnstar to kill the leader of the Silverhand. Along they way, they also cleared Fort Dunstad. Fort Dunstand has a lot of skeevers and cheese, a lot. Past builds had never really explored the forts much, but now I'm making a point to so, especially before the Civil War is completed. Seeing as it was now getting dark, Lisette and Barbas traveled further North and stayed at the village of Dawnstar, where they discovered that the villagers were being tormented by the Daedric prince Vaermina. Lisette teamed up with a dark elf priest of Mara, Erandur, and cleared Nightcaller temple, putting an end to the nightmares. She also got a really, really nifty cloak that reduces conjuration spells by 20%. This'll be perfect for when she does the college quests.
Now, we remember that Lisette's original attempt to become Thane of Riften failed due to a bug with the dialogue options of Laila Law-giver and I was forced to revert Lisette to an earlier save. Well, this time things were done differently. First, Lisette helped the people of Ivarstead, then she traveled to Riften and gathered several more helping quests; namely the flawless amethysts, the fire salts, and the ice wraith teeth quests. She also acquired a bounty to kill said dragon at Lost tongue, which she had already taken care of. Lisette also spoke with Mjoll the Lioness and agreed to locate her sword, Grimsever. Mzinchaleft was very fun, good for perking the werewolf tree as by now, Lisette could eat anything, falmer included. Haha, I should change this thread to "eating her way through skyrim, a glutton's tale..." Lisette opted for Beast form to deal with the final boss. Returning Grimsever to Mjoll, Lisette now felt confident to address Riften's skooma problem. Of course, let's ignore the fact that she has around 50 bottles of the stuff in a strong box at her desk over at Riverside Lodge. Yes, skyrim has a skooma problem, the problem is that Lisette doesn't have the skooma and she wants it. Lol, most of the skooma was obtained by killing the skooma addicts that randomly roam Skyrim. She finally gets the quest to stop the skooma trade. Now, as a precaution, I had saved prior to getting the quest and this is the only time that I resorted to fast travel for this build. I didn't want anything messing up or bugging the dialogue, so the quest was completed very quickly. Fortunately for Lisette, the dialogue option to purchase Honeyside was there and she is now Thane of the Rift without any hitches.
FINALLY Lisette returns to Aela to report the death of the Silverhand leader and she gets another quest from Aela to retrieve a Fragnment of Wuthraad. I find that Aela and Farkas give the most stable quests. Vilkas and Skjor's quests are extremely buggy. Of course, she has to go BACK to the Rift to clear out Treva's Watch. *Sigh* fortunately, Queen Allie is a strong mare. She is starting to find steelplate equipment, which is great.
All the loot acquired warranted another trading trip to Whiterun, so Lisette donned a pretty dress and made the trip to town. I like this aspect of the RP'ing, it increases the danger because she is not always in warrior's armor, and I get to use the dresses in the game.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266055405
While at Whiterun, she accepts a special mission from Kodlak who is aware of her and Aela's vengeful strikes against the Silverhand. Busted.

Thanks for looking. :)
That is why the factions will have different fighting styles. It'll help eliviate some of the boredom with a build intent on completing many quests. Now, she's doing shield and mace, which is interesting as it's slower. Bonecrusher perk was too hard to ignore. I was never a big sword 'n shield player, I usually go with an axe, as I like bleed damage. I'll have her dual wield dawnguard axes for the Dawnguard quest. With three words from Elemental fury, they are pretty damaging.
I have tried very hard, but I could never get into Illusion. Once in a while, I'll perk it for aspect of terror and quiet casting, but I haven't played a sneak build in a long time. I tried to start one, but felt that a sneaky build in the direction I was going in wouldn't do the Main quest.
I like shield mages though. I never get tired of bashing people with a shield nor burning them to a crisp.
Well anyway, so she's Harbinger, she's also a fully perked werewolf. I will tell you, having Lisette rampage in Beast form during Purity of Revenge was pretty cool. She also took on the Glenmoril witch coven in Beast form. I love irony. It is also appropriate, IMO that she use Beast form when appropriate.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266422457
Some randomness, on her way to the Coven, she stumbled upon a Thalmor ambush of Stormcloak soldiars.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266422400
That was cool to watch. Of course, she killed the Thalmor later. Ok, back on track, but there is still a lot of side-tracking. Lisette herself got a bit side tracked on the way back from the final mission though. Tehe, Farkas was taking forever to get home, he IS rather slow, so Lisette ran into him in the Wilds of the North where she got a quest for him. Spriggans! Yay! Easy peasy! No, not spriggans, Spriggan Earth Mother! Booooooo! Not so easy peasy. She thought he had returned to Whiterun, but no, he was still dallying up North when she returned after the task. They had a long talk and he decided that the Beast Blood was no longer for him. Lisette is more like Aela and enjoys the power that the beast blood gives, but she understands that it's not for everyone, so she helped Farkas out.
Neat view of the North
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266422497
That out of the way, she headed back to Whiterun. Of course, Lisette and Barbas, never take shortcuts, so they detoured through Wayward Pass, Mount Anthor, and Forsaken cave. Forsaken cave was important, she had run into Frida at Dawnstar who needed a ring recovered for her. Frida was old and feeble. Frida wouldn't have even made it inside the cave, as a snowy sabre cat was guarding the entrance. She returned the ring to Frida, who was then killed moments later by a blood dragon. Too old and feeble to go into a cave, hmmm? but you'll attempt to take on a dragon wearing naught but your pretty dress and wielding an iron dagger? Ok. So Lisette opts to keep the Ring of Pure Mixtures as a momento of their brief friendship.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266422584
This is where things get a bit interesting. So Lisette makes it back to Whiterun, but then decides that she doesn't want to talk to the Companions for a spell. Instead, she heads back home to Riverside Lodge. Sleeping on it, she decides to remove the Wolf armor and place it on a manequin. Time to take a break from the Companions and do some other quests. Now is the time for mobility and exploration, so she dons her best light armor equipment and heads out the door and down to Falkreath, where a bounty must be redeemed. She kept Wuthraad, as it is a symbol of her accomplishment. It is also a handy weapon. So, the skills have changed. From heavy armor to light armor, from one-handed to two-handed. Archery is the constant. She is level 19 now, about to hit 20 and begin the next phase of her journey. When she's doing Companion work, she will don her Faction armor, but for these next few quests, she wasn't doing work for the Companions, so it made no sense.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266772551
To compensate, she carries more health potions, food, and her bracers are Elven bracers of Eminent sure-grip (two-handed buff). Her armor rating plumeted over 100 points. I decided to have her do Unfathomable Depths as a sort of test. I really didn't think she'd do well, but she made it. She also started the Interesting NPCs' quest dealing with the Divines, and had entered the crypt, and that's again when I reverted to an earlier save. Going into that crypt gave her Blades armor WAY too early and the quest reward, IMO is too powerful for such an early level character. So, I reverted to an earlier save right before she enters the crypt and will delay that quest until much later.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266772846
It is also time for her to take on the first Dragon Priest. Usually it is Krosis, though in the past, I've never used his mask. Now it is central to the build. Why? Lisette will be joining the DB and the TG. Right now, she's thane of two holds and the Harbinger of the Companions, she has a good reputation. Joining the DB and TG is a turn to the darker side, so she'll need a disguise. The dragon priest mask is perfect for this. Especially for the DB as this will be a no sneak playthrough. She will also pick up the Ebony blade.
My apologies for the length, a lot has happened and I should have broken it up into smaller parts. I think the peeechurs help a bit. Thanks for looking. Time now to go play.

I think I may have botched up the Bard’s college quest as Lisette found a drum in the master chest at this location. We’ll see, she didn’t actually take the drum, so it may be ok. From what I’ve read, the bug is that you still get the reward, but the quest doesn’t complete. Fair enough.

Now as you all know, Lisette is a girl who enjoys shopping. She enjoys dressing up in cute clothes and cloaks and heading to town to get all the latest gossip and the best sales. Of course this is a risk when one knows that your build lives at a known dragon spawn point, but I was curious if she could handle an attack wearing only clothes.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=267620749
About 13 minor health potions later… NO ONE comes between a girl and a sale at Belethor’s General Goods. NO. ONE. I think she would’ve survived without them, but the battle would’ve been longer as she would’ve retreated to covered areas to heal. Not bad, though. Thank you advanced Atronach and Breton magic resistance. If push came to shove, she would turn werewolf, but I didn’t think it was needed.

I really wanted to do Potema's questline as the DB can affect this quest a bit, but I didn't want to just go in as a warrior class. I wanted to play it as a mage. So Lisette rumaged through all of her chests of stored loot and came up with the following attire...
Adept robes of conjuration
Dwarven Helmet of eminent Conjuration
Dwarven boots of Extreme stamina (the 50 point one)
Heavy gauntlets of either one-handed, two-handed, or archery
Verminia's something (an enchanted cloak from cloaks of skyrim, 20% conjuration reduction)
She tossed the weapons and learned the bound weapon spells. :) Off she went to do the Break of Dawn and all of Potema's stuff. Very effective, as bound bow cost very little. I've yet to take mystic binding yet, but I think I will soon as Elemental fury wasn't necessary with the daedric quality weapons.
Potema’s minions are not very effective, when the bodies are looted prior to them being reanimated. Hahahaha

With the Shield of Solitude and Proudspire manor now owned, it was time to proceed with the original plan, which means the Dark Brotherhood. I wanted a twist for this build. Last time I did the DB, I focused on Stealth and not getting bounties and I sniped with bows. Boring. This time, no sneak. Since Lisette has spent the majority of time doing good, she's made a lot of friends in Skyrim. It was time to whip out the Ebony Blade and finally use the weapon. After all, after over 10 unsucessful attempts on her life, it was time for either payback or show the Guild how it's really done.
Impersonating the Dark Brotherhood; Necromancer's cloak, Krosis, black robes, Elven gauntlets of eminent sure grip, and the ebony blade.

I'm having a blast. This build is developing the way I want it to. I had to join the thieves guild as well, but I only progressed as far as getting the armor and will finish that questline after the Winterhold quests.
Sorry for the length again. Thanks for looking. :)
Went into Liar's retreat and realized that Falmer are hard. Too hard for the Ebony blade. Getting owned unitl I grab the first Falmer armor I see and equip it, switching from light armor to heavy. Go back in with improvised weapons (whatever I find in chests) and tactics. Emerge victorious and with the Longhammer.
One more reason why Jack of all Trades builds can work.
She has desecrated the temple of Talos with the body of Nilsine Shatter-Shield. It was an excellent kill, though, the Talos priest was in the other room and had no idea that this had happened.

The Wedding contract was far more difficult and pretty messy. It took a couple of reloads. I initially wanted Lisette to do the wedding in Beast form, but that place is swarming with guards and she'd barely leave Solitude alive, only to get killed by the outdoor guards. Then I had her push the statue, which didn't go so well either. Finally, sometimes simple is best. I had her follow the bride and groom into the balcony, where then Lisette whacked her with the Ebony blade, no sneak, no frills, no nothing. Of course, Lisette had to deal with the guards and she took some damage, but sheathing her weapon was recognized by the guards and she paid her bounty. The fight wasn't over though, Barbas was having too much fun! That's the interesting thing about Barbas, he'll aggro guards, but the guards will not attack you because Barbas technically isn't my follower.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271046457
Chatting with the groom. :) Haha, last DB playthrough I did, I was all about staying hidden and the backstab. This playthrough is all about making statements and being very public. Yep, you get bounties, but Lisette's drowning in septims at this point so why not just pay bounties and have some fun?

Not satisfied with slaughtering half of Solitude’s guards at the Wedding, Barbas picks a fight with a dragon and Talsgar the Wanderer, as Stormcloaks look on. I like how they line up in a little line.

Lisette is always ready with a bow. She got very lucky with some Draugr Deathlords at Volunruud and one dropped an ebony bow. Archery is her top skill, but no, not sneak archery. Sneak is for milk drinkers. Either in your face archery or mounted combat. No slow time either, that's cheating. Everything is in real time with fast-moving targets. The girl would make an excellent Mongolian archer.

Lucien Lachance, it only took 5 reloads. Lisette's big disadvantage is that she cannot summon well. Summoning fails 77% of the time, due to the Advanced Atronach stone. Now, this can be used to her advantage. Bound bow takes up some magicka and her regen is extremely slow. When her spell expires, she'll conjure a familiar in battle and let it fail. This replenishes her magicka almost instantly, allowing her to conjure the bow extremely fast again. Unfortunately, Lucien Lachance is a summon AND a greater power, so only once a day. So if it fails, it fails. Fortunately, I had a save just before Lisette needed to summon him. He's pretty amazing, the commentary is very cool and it really added to the emmersion of the particular quest Lisette was doing at the time. Knowing her luck, though, Faralda will ask Lisette to summon something when she joins the college. :)
