CBBE load order
So if I want to start using CBBE with other female mods, what have you guys found in the best load order? Yes, I know about the load order managers, but would like to understand the basic concepts behind them. Should CBBE be first, then CBBE armors, then beautiful eyes, and then specific character changes/additions?

Not all mods that are installed trough NMM act as "mods" in Data folder. You won't be able to see CBBE or CBBE armors in your load order. They will replace existing data, untill they are removed.

Therefore telling the exact "load order" is impossible.

Installation order, however, is easier. CBBE is a base mod and other mods either rely on it or change it. You should install it first. Rest of it actually does not much, but logical order would be to rember that what you install next has potential to overwrite some data from previous file:
- Body texture
- Face texture*
- Body/face details
- Armor and clothing

* I don't recommend using a face texture that is not part of the body texture. It does not actually conflict, but neck seam gets quite obvious.

I think I will backup the entire directory first since it changes base files. Thanks.

I went, right or wrong....

XP32 skeleton
CBBE
Bodyslide 2.0
CBBEv3m
No more blocky faces

Then face mods....

My favourite was Better Followers....the only time I really wanted to make Ria my spouse...

You did install Realistic Ragdoll and Force with XP32 skeleton, right?

No, I installed remodeld armour, and then it went a lot ruder than these forums allow.

Is the version of CBBE in the workshop different than the one on Nexus?

There have been updated versions of CBBE, some really are quite eye-catching, but steam, despite this being a mature forum, still has its limits.

I would check out CBBE via other sites if I were you.

I don't want to go too far because it will catch the attention of the wife, if you know what I mean. lol I would prefer to use the workshop, especially if it makes uninstalling it easier,

A good portion of all weirdness with that skeleton happens, because so many seem to skip requirements.

Requirement:
Realistic Ragdolls and Force by dDefinder

Edit: I am regular quest in LL. I only understand the consept of art. :D

We need to know exactly what mods you are thinking of installing but this is something that you can logically work out yourself. CBBE is a body replacer so it replaces the vanilla female body meshes and textures. If you are installing other CBBE-related mods that alter or replace parts of that, then logically you want CBBE installed first.

For armor and eyes, it doesn't really matter since CBBE doesn't add/replace any files for either. Armor is a completely seperate thing and CBBE still uses the vanilla eye textures.

I'm not totally sure of the complete list yet. Is it safe to assume that any "appearance" mods will not corrupt my saves or interfere with quests, etc. I don't want to lose any progress. I did read that uninstalling a mod causes more issues than installing mid-game. Thanks.

Typically, yea they are fairly safe. Worst case is you might get messed up looking people and/or purple or invisible body parts. That said animation mods are a different story and can cause crash on load if done improperly.

there is an app, called BOSS, that arranges the loading order of all skyrim mods there are, so that problem you're having can be easily solved.

Did you even read the thread? Most of the mods being discussed here are not even in the load order. Running BOSS would do absolutely nothing.

i thought boss would list things like that, sorry
