Infamous Intro Wagon Bug
So, the first thing I decided when I got Skyrim was that I would mod it completely before I actually started playing it. I started with the overhauls and core mods that seemed most popular and good. Every 3-5 mods I installed I would make sure thee were no incompatibilities, install patches, run Boss, make a Bashed Patch, and load Skyrim past teh title screen into the Intro Wagon Sequence. I got to about 20 mods and all was well, nothing at all was wrong besides previous hiccups which I fixed. I got to about 50 mods and I was getting sick of loading into the intro squence constantly... By the time I got to roughly 80-90 mods, I loaded up Skyrim, and to my amazement THE WAGON CAME TO LIFE! It was violently whirling and shaking like it was possessed by an excorcist demon and had a grudge against everything animate and inanimate with an overwhelming need to smash and crush it all to oblivion.
My question; I know people have encountered this, but no one, that I can find, offers a fix so does anyone have one?

Had that too today ... weird thing was it was even flying. I tried going back to the main menu and then start new game and everything was ok.

Alright, well first off; Samuel, yer a pointless jackass but thanks for bumping up my post. SpeedFreak, I tried going back to teh title then starting a new game again but it caused a load loop forcing me to simply terminate the program back to desktop as usual. And, finally, Nightcore, very vague info but I already added "ipreventinterval=1" to my "skyrimprefs.ini" and also enabled Vsync on my nVidia Control Panel and guess what....? I bet you can guess what happened.

So, to be concise and specific, my wagon problem still happens even with Vsync forced in the ini and set to on in my Control Panel. Anyone know of a fix that they want to SHARE? Thanks in advance.

uninstall helgen reborn mod, as well as any other mod that alters the intro and helgen.

There was a thread made on this the other day. Look it up in the discussions search filter here...

Hi Nightcore :)

Hi Master :D

If the refresh rate for your monitor is over 60 hz then Vsync can't do nothin' for ya man. You're going to need to either lower your monitor's refresh rate or get a frame-rate limiter.

OK. thanks for all teh info, changed my monitor refresh rate from 60 Hertz to below but the exact same thing happened. Starting to think the script intensive intro sequence just isn't compatible with lots of mods and is liable to have problems as stated by others. Guess I'll have to start deactivating my mods.... Hours of wasted work, but that's life.

And I have no mods that affect Helgan except a texture mod which worked fine.

I have a 75z monitor changed it to 60Hz thru Windows, found out after that wasn't the way to go because the monitor went nuts, had a hell of a time to reset it atferwards, then I find out that was a good way to toast it, Pop over to this thread:

PRAISE THE GODS! I cannot believe it worked, but when I turned on Vsync before I simply set it to "on" and what was recommended was to set it to "adaptive." Adaptive Vsync actually, to my amazement, fixed teh possessed wagon issue. Thanks for all teh info folks, appreciate it, and if anyone stumbles upon this post; SET YOUR VSYNC TO ADAPTIVE.... if you can.

OKAY! That might have fixed it but there is another thing that can mess with your game. If at any time you have had the mod Fores new idles in skyrim installed, uninstalling it wont get rid of all the files you must do one of the following :
A: Reinstall the mod. That will fix it xD.
B: Manually delete the leftover fores new idles files.
Hope this helps anyone whos Vsync didnt help.

so ive got no mods, and it's still being stupid at the beginning. finally made it into the first town but stuck when we're supposed to get off the wagon cause the wagon won't stop glitching around, it's kinda speared through the horse...this is stupid.

You should start your own thread. But since we are here try this first. If doesn't work then start your own thread.
Rule of Thumb: Vsync (Verticle Refresh) set to always ON and FPS not to exceed 60. The game physics go wild if not. Sound default 24 bit 48KHz stereo and if Realtek then "Loudness Equalisation" on. If monitor is 120-144Hz then set it to 60Hz or adaptive refresh rate or some such from GPU utility program. If you can't then "FPS Limiter" from Nexus will do the trick. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34/?
