I can't SHOUT. Please advise

I'm at the Greybeards, and they tell me to SHOUT at them to prove I'm Dragonborn. Well, it's not working! I've verified my game cache. I've tried remapping the control key, still no SHOUT. I've checked my jounal and my active quest is meet the Greybeards. Is there something I'm supposed to do before I can activate my SHOUT? Have I missed some important step before meeting the Greybeards? Can it be that I'm not Dragonborn after all?

Does anything happen? Also is the Shout equipped?

Nothing happens when I press Z for SHOUT. How do I equip it?

Okay, first, breathe deep.
Now think of something that effectively pisses you off, like instantaneous anger causing thing, could be anything at all.
then, let your lungs expel air with such force that your vocal chords have no choice but to heed the call of the air you're using to great effect.
if you did it right you should notice strange looks on the faces of the people who were sitting right next to you when you screamed at the top of your lungs.
However, you can only be absolutely certain that you did a great job if it appears as though they're calling the police in a panic
then you have indeed succeeded.

The first word for unrelenting force is in BLEAKFALLS BARROW, the word wall is at the end of the Barrow

To equip the shout, open your magic/powers menu and go to shouts and select unrelenting force.

That should have been active because the guard ask you to shout when you absorded the first dragon soul. (I said to press 'Z' and try it in your other post)

Well the shouting after killing your first dragon is optional ... you don't have to shout. and even then you have to equip it ...

Thanx all. TBAA, very funny. :) Kelvy, no one asked me to SHOUT when I first got it. It was notified as an option, but as I had nothing obvious to SHOUT at, I didn't bother.

Your shout trigger the greybreads call (shout) when heading back to Whiterun to report to Jarl that the dragon is dead.

To my understanding, absorbing the dragon soul triggered the call.

You're correct even if you don't shout you get the shout from the Greybeards near Whiterun.

Thanx all. I didn't actively SHOUT after killing the Dragon, but got the summons from the Greybeards, whom I've seemingly impressed with my shouting abilities, thanx mostly to Hoshikudaki. Trigger, meet you at the western watchtower, Whiterun. Bring your birth certificate and a big sword! :)
