Plus, meals in inns are usually pretty affordable, even with SkyRe's rather harsh re-jigging of prices. If I'm doing a peasant type RP (with less money coming in) then I'm more reliant on befriending people and taking a couple of days' worth of food (usually bread and cheese, soup or meat if I'm lucky) at their 'insistance'. If not, then I have to chop wood until I can afford a bowl of stew at the inn, I guess.
That Become a Beggar mod sounds interesting!
so yes, i did a few times play peasants, fishermen/hunters, miners, student, whatever the random spawn makes me actually
i never loot ennemies to keep my lifestyle interesting(except for rings and misc items they have, plus i take only weapons that suit me but don t hoard them)
as it s permadeath, i tend to run away most of the time
this has got me some very interesting playthroughs, funner than the actual way actually
my aim is to survive and make my way up to a more decent situation, eventually,my charcater can become an adventurer and treasure hunter once he s got a few lvls and bought some equipment(which i buy at three times the price), but again, permadeath makes me super coward
i do some adventures, but rely on followers to front line(i have about 100 extra followers thanks to mods, all none essential)
best playthough ever was with a peasant girl
i started nice and honest, gathered food and sold it, on my way to a town, i got attacked by bandits, they killed me but i got lucky on my dice roll(the bandit group that lure you to help them and lead you into a trap on a mountain path)
as my charcater was pretty, i roleplayed and decided they kept me captive, doing whatever bandits do to a pretty peasant girl
that experience made her a bit diffrerent and a bit paranoid, but she resumed her peasant life
until, well she got killed again(lucky dice again)...by city guards(i misclicked in a shop and stole instead of initiating dialog, oops)
that was it, she turned into a bandit, guards were no better than the usual thugs, screw it, screw potataoes and leeks, she ll make her living as a highwaywomen from that point(she was lvl6
from that point i hired 15 followers, called them my group, cleared with my band a bandit camp and made it my camp
my groups activity was mainly raiding villages and towns, on every run i lost a few companions, but wandering with always 7 friends made that lifestyle playable, she was an archer and stayed out of trouble
some companions survived the various battles, so i got very found of them, i ended up roleplaying nearly ten characters and losing one of them started to mean something, my money was spent to equip my party and build buildings in my camp(5000 gold for a structure)
managing my party was super fun, i had ranks, going to lieutenant(old companions) to canon fodder(rookies)
i became eventually pretty stong, started raiding big cities(with extraguards mod) and had a few very very epic battles, especially in solitude
then one day, she died at lvl18(reaching lvl 18 with permadeath is quite an achievement, believe me )she got too confident and forgot the numberone rule: anything wearing a robe is definitely to be avoided, two fire wizards barbecued her with fireballs, poor girl
this is what a permadeath playthrough can bring you, when you succeed
on the other hands, i did have my share of fishermen dying at lvl1 because the spawned between two snow cats and a polar bear
this kind of playing surely is not for everyone, but i d thought you d might enjoy the story OP
