"Alteration Ritual Spell" Quest
Hello everyone,

I have a problem with this quest, in "High gate Ruins" when you go to this place for the first time, you find Anska and you help her finding her scroll, then you fight Vokun and you take his mask, then there two doors (one on the right and the other is on the left) open and you go to a wall to have the second word of Storm Call shout and you also find the scroll for anska then you finish her quest.

Now when I reached level 90 in alteration, Tolfdir (in college of Winterhold) gave me the quest "Alteration Ritual Spell" and in the same place again "High gate Ruins", but the two doors at the end of that ruin are closed and I can't complete the quest !! I have tried many times but they still closed and I have no idea why ??!!

any help to make them open ?

Fortunately, yes I play the game on my PC :)

I never used the console commands! Is it completely safe?
and what is tcl ?

Have you faced the same problem? are you sure there is no way to open the door normaly?

Yes, as slofish said, tcl and unlock are safe console commands. To access the console you just hit the tilde or whatever key is left of the 1 key. To leave the console, same thing.

You can find a list of console commands and what they do on uesp wiki or elder scrolls wiki, if you are ever unsure. The console is not a big scary thing, but you should just be wise about it.

tcl is safe; it means "toggle clipping" and basically allows you
to pass through things that are normally solid.

yes I had the same problem and no I don't know if there is another way.

Try unlock first; that is completely harmless and only works on locked
doors and containers. You must 'target' the door by clicking on it with
your mouse while in console mode. ~ leftclick (type) unlock enter ~

If you're not in the States you may not have a '~' key.
Let me know where you are if not; I saw something recently about
which keys open the console in different countries. woot

tcl and unlock can't really screw up your game.
The only thing that could happen is you might get 'stuck'
in the floor if you're not completely above it when you type
tcl and enter the 2nd time. Just do it again and fly up a little bit.

tcl is a 'toggle: the first time activates it and the second time deactivates it.

I wouldn't tell you commands that would mess you up, (you hope) lol

it's harmless

MANY OTHER COMMANDS ARE NOT HARMLESS and I personally will
not suggest them.

yes I have the "~" key, and I am not from US, I am from Asia - KSA :). I've just tried the "~" key out and it worked, I opened the console. BTW, if you have a link for good video on Youtube that explains this operation please paste it for me :), and I look for this too.

Now I stand in front of the door or the gate, then I open the console, then what should I write exactly?

I found the key and I tried it out, thank you for your comment :)

Click on the door with the mouse and a number will pop up in the black area (console). Type unlock and hit enter. Then close the console.

(you can click on anything and get its ID code)

then type unlock and press the enter key

tap the ~ key again to exit the console
with any luck you can open the door

if not reenter console mode and type tcl and then enter
and then exit console mode; you can now pass through the
wall/door (no clipping)

be sure you're above the floor and not touching walls etc.
open the console and type tcl then enter the exit the console

everything should be normal again and you're in the room you
want to be in; leave the room through the normal exit

I gots no Youtube videos; it's not that complicated really,

just looked at yer profile 396 hours in Skyrim and you never used the
console; ought to be an achievement for that!

Great, you witness that I deserve an achievement for non-using the console in skyrim lol

thank you so much for your help, I will test it tommorow because its late now and I should go to bed, then I'll give you my feedback :)
