Requiem tips?
Having a hard time fighting things and trying to level up. Can someone who's played that mod give me some tips?

Have you watched the videos describing the changes that requiem makes to leveling and perks, it basically says that you will have to do a lot more wandering Skyrrim to take on a lot more lower level enemies before meeting medium level enemies, meet quite a few more before taking on trolls for example. Requiem changes the games in subtle but profound ways. Even dungeons that you normally say "I can do this" might have to be put off for a while. For example the deep Falls Barrows fight at the word wall was tough on first play through, easier on later playthroughs because of learned experience and careful preparation beforehand, might have to be put off till you spend more time levelling. It a mod doing what it is supposed to do, make it a new harder game for experiienced players.

Where do I find these weaker enemies though. This is my first playthrough of Skyrim. Yes I'm crazy enough to play a mod that makes the game far harder for my first playthrough.

Just a suggestion, put the Unofficial Patches right after the .esm that it patches. other than that it looks pretty straightforward for a first playthrough. Good luck man.

I notice your patches are not in correct order they should follow their destinated main file eg.
Skyrim
Skyrim up date
Unofficial skyrim patch
Dawnguard
UDG patch
Hearthfires( should be second on list}
UHF patch
(same for dragonborn and its patch)
other esms
HD Res texture packs then Unofficial patch(right order)
Esps - mods

The weaker enemies are the weaker enemies. Bunnies, mudcrabs, deer, elk, lightly armored humanoids, wolves, etc. Depending on what you specialize in humanoid targets will drop like flies mid game regardless of their armor. How you should attack each target is going to vary more than in vanilla.

I just tried fighting a mudcrab and he wrecked me in a head on fight. I have imperial heavy armor with an imperial sword and an imperial shield. I was level 2 at the time.

If you want a sword it on workshop - "sword of fury" found at well in Whiterun and OK, no issues.
PS you won't want any other trust me, I am level 40 and still got it.

Try not getting hit. I find it's much easier to not die when I don't get hit. Unless you have the right perks for heavy armor then you're never going to have any stamina. Everything but walking eats up stamina. You run out of stamina in combat you're as good as dead.

I found that wearing light armor and specialising in ranged weapons and spells worked better for me. As noted by Anarchy stamina is a real issue and if you can kill from a distance it just seems to work better in Requiem.
