Does SkyUI work smoothly with a 360 controller? (CLOSED)
Just wondering. I don't mind the vanilla menu w/ the 360, but SkyUI looks pretty interesting.

Yes I use one and love it. Play around with the SkyUI settings and you can make favorite groups, I use one for weapons, one for shouts, one for powers, etc. Just have to press up on the pad like your bringing up favorites, then you can press y (I think it is Y but it displays the button for you so you will know) to toggle the groups.
Sky UI was designed to change the UI from the glitchy AWFUL console-based UI of the game. Some of us PC Elitists are using all the tolerance we can muster to control our temper...to see a comment like this is like having to watch someone inserting a jam sandwich into the disk drive and not kicking up a fuss.

I will leave it at that.

As minoravatar said, it works. Quite good even. I use it as well with a 360 controller.

I'm not exactly sure what you're on about though, Master Dan. What's wrong with using a controller?
It works fine. When selling groups of items it can sometimes be a little too easy to flick to something else and sell the wrong item though.

Well, I guess you're right.
Yeah some games really aren't very good without one. Dark Souls come to mind. At least I couldn't get used to the keyboard and mouse controls.
I play Skyrim with a controller because I usually play it in 3rd person, where I find controllers are quite nice to use.

Darn it I was going to write a manifesto about why controllers are OK. Oh well how about a joke about how Keyboard vs controller people sound to each other instead.
(Insert voice of Goth kid leader Michael from South Park here)
"Real Skyrim players only use (insert mod here) and play with a (insert keyboard or controller here) all others are just conformists. So unless you want to be a conformist you better play Skyrim just like I do."

I sympathise with you Master Dan, only console I ever owned was a Atari back in the 80's. Could never get the hang of all the buttons on the newer controlers. Have stayed with keyboard/mouse/joystick since my first PC.

However you play with what you know, and for some that is a controler. Though it is ironic that they want to use a controler with a program designed to get away from controlers.

Live and let live.

Kickin it old school.

Thanks for the replies! I tried it out and I'm enjoying it more than the original UI, much more organized. Thanks!

Mouse? Noob! In MY day you had to type the letter corresponding to the direction you wanted to go and hope you hadn't misread the available directions if they were written in a somewhat verbose/flowery style ;P

Hehehe, I remember a time when a computer mouse didn't exist.

I remember being kind of blown away when we got our first Atari ST which had a kind of proto-Windows type OS (this was before we even had a machine that could run DOS, I think?) and a mouse.
