Best companion or wife to marry?

What is the strongest companion in the game? Also what is the best wife? Are there different bonuses with different wives? My current one is ysolda which you get bonus gold. What are the other marry bonuses for the other wives?

I married Borgakh the Steel Heart with my second character I just found myself oddly attracted to her three pack a day voice.

I married Mjoll my first go through. She had a tendency to get stuck in rivers, though, for some reason. Probably the massive armor I always put on her. Plus I felt like I was part of a threesome, because her own little follower moves right up in your house with you. Good to be Mjoll, I guess!

This might sound like a strange pick, but Ghorza the orc blacksmith in Markarth is usually my choice if I'm making a warrior type character. You can use her to train smithing up fast. And if you're clever you can get your money back from her.

I recommend Brelyna Maryon, of the winterhold college. She was my first wife, but I had to mod her hair to make her a little easier to look at.... That being said, if you decide not to mod her, keep her hood on. You have been warned xD

Also worth noting, mage followers are very rare and valuable in Skyrim. Armored warriors are a dime a dozen.
