Husbands/wives who don't lose their personality?
So, my current character is possibly going to marry Jenassa, but does she go all gushy and sappy when you marry her? I was so disappointed when my first character married grumpy Lydia who immediately started being all sweet and lovey-dovey. Ick. I like Anwen from the Temple of Dibella in Markarth, as she is still as mardy as ever, but she's not a follower, and I'd really prefer to marry someone who can come adventuring with 'me'. If Jenassa's one of the sappy ones, are there any marriage-able followers who keep their personality after you wed? I'm doing the Companions questline, but using a mod which extends it, so probably not in the market for a Companion wife/husband. Anyone married Ghorbash the Iron-Hand from Dushnik Yal?

Haven't married Jenassa personally, but I heard she keeps most of her awesomeness after marriage :P

She's so delightfully creepy :D Although I do have a soft spot for Farkas... *sigh*

But Farkas and Vilkas pretty much become ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after marriage. I wish some husbands or wives would actually keep their fierce and strong personality.

Jenassa does go a little sappy. Not as sappy as Lydia, but I was hoping she'd be more of a b*tch to me. Really the only people who won't change after marriage are those in mods, because all the marriage lines are basically the same for vanilla. Want a character who will be the same after you marry them as before, go with Interesting NPCs.

Anwen's still snarky, which I like, but she's not a follower, so... I kinda figure Farkas is already a cute little puppy (but also a badass, obv) but I don't want him turning into a total drip. *sigh*

Heh I just couldn't get past Jenassa being willing to cook. I think she'd tell me to cook my own f*cking dinner.

Oh dear... Anwen basically does that (although she does grudgingly happen to have a meal on hand, because people would moan if their awesome snarky hot wife refused to make them sammidges, I guess). Maybe Jenassa and my character will just live in sin...

See, this is why I want Neloth for a marriage option. Sure, he'll cook something. "How are you enjoying that stew? Any noticeable effects yet? Hmm...."

Gaaaah, I need to meet this Neloth guy. Going back to Solstheim for a Companions job soon, but still haven't actually had any Cultists come after me (got Timing is Everything installed and I've set them to show up after the Horn of JW) so I presume some stuff won't be active yet.

No she doesn't, infact I believe she's one of those NPC's with unique dialogue after marrriage, she certainly doesn't go lovey dovey. Quite the opposide infact.

Speaking of marriage I did marry Camilla Valerius once, I was young and foolish and she was pretty and flirtatious... bad idea. She's terriby ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and gushy all at the same time. Awful.

Nope, but I've often thought about tying the knot the blacksmith from Markarth, Ghorza Gra-Bagol. From what I've seen on youtoob they're surprisingly, erm, tender, for an Orc.

Ahhh I envy you. Actually, I think the word "Solstheim" means '"Land of Decent Voice Acting". I'd do that Redoran Captain, too.

My spouse always says when i ask her to cook that she ought to be asking that question, and don't dare ask for another before tomorrow. She gives me a telling off I ask how the kids are doing at any of the Hearthfire homes, complaining "its fine, when we're not fighting off bears, or wolves or bandits or giant spiders! Honestly, what were you thinking?!" she gets quite irate., lol.

There are different clasifications of speech, my wife's dialogue is classed as "arrogant" by the CK. Aela would be another of the same type.

Heh, yeah, my last long-term character married Camilla mainly to annoy Faendal and Sven, and because she seemed like she'd be happy enough staying home with the kids selling tat to whoever it is she sells tat to in Lakeview Manor. Passing bandits, I guess. I didn't spend a whole lot of time at home (adopted the kids mainly because I felt sorry for them, sleeping rough).

So, so far, Jenassa and Aela and Anwen? I'm curious as my Khajiit may marry eventually and I hated what marriage did to Marcurio in my first playthrough, so much so that I haven't married again since. Marriage destroyed him, and then the bandits came, and he was worse...
