Quest Rjorn's Drum cannot complete

I found Rjorn's Drum before I accepted his quest. He promised me to teach some skills, but the quest doesn't get on completed.

Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Try dropping the drum and then talk to quest giver then pick it up again.

I can't find any fix for this since I had a similar situation. Found his drum before hand and had completed a prior quest that led up to him offering the quest. Gave him the drum and completed the quest but the quest never cleared out of the journal.

Doesn't the most recent unofficial skyrim patch fix this? I'm fairly sure something about it was included in the changelog.

I have the latest patch installed via Steam, patch version 1.9.32.0.8 on 20/03/2013.

Tried to already drop the drum and give it back to him. The dialogue is stuck and the skills he promised are not applied. Dialogue keeps repeating itself.

*Un* official patch - not the Skyrim patched version, this is a community made mod that fixes a lot of the remaining bugs that Behtesda didn't bother with.
