Can't turn others into vampires
I ran into a glitch where I can't use Vampire Seduction to transform others into vampires. Obviously, this makes the quest "New Allegiances" impossible. I can turn others into vampires by killing them, drinking their blood, and using Praestare Sanguinare, but there is no way to complete all the Vampire sidequests without being able to do this. Anyone have a solution?

I think the quest specifically requires that you use Vampire's Seduction on the NPC and then feed off them, rather than that they become part of the vampire faction as such (so using mods to turn them won't help, afaik). Are you unable to do this at all, or are you doing it and it doesn't count? Are you at the right stage to be able to use VS?

Vampire Seduction needs to be powerful enough. Go out in the sun, feed, repeat, till you get the message about Vampire seduction. You may have to do this a few times.

I have Vampire seduction. Acording to the walkthrough that I resorted to, once I use it on them, I can open a menu on them asking weather I want to talk/pickpocket, or if I want to turn them into vampires. Unfortunately, the menu won't show up, and instead it will make me talk to them, or pick their pockets. Also, I've fed on maybe a little over 200 people, so I'm not sure what the game wants from me.

(In case you don't see my comment on the other thread, and sorry if this is stating the obvious) I think you need to be sneaking behind the person when you try to feed off them - worth a try if you were maybe slightly off to the side before?

Tried it. Nothing.

You need to use it like a shout. Hit Z key.

Forego feeding for one day and a notifcation will pop up in the top left corner, once that happens cast the power Vampire suduction on the required npc (In a hidden area, if you can wait for night they will be in their home) Once it has been cast on them they will have a slight green-ish hue like glow to them (Kind of like oakflesh does to you when cast) then activate them it doesn't matter where your standing, or if your sneaking or not just select the "feed" option. the quest updates saying som random bs and you return to the castle. On a side note whenever you see that npc again they will be a vamp and comment about how happy they are to be one. From what you are describing it sounds like your missing a step. If your not then the game is bugged and you may need to reload to a previous save and try again.

I know how to use it, the problem is that it doesn't do anything other than make an enemy not hostile with you.

I know all of that, however the problem is that rather than bringing me to the menu that says
Talk/Feed
doesn't show up, and instead just makes me talk to them.

Hmm that is odd. do you have any mods that affect vampires in anyway?
Zeyo Feb 20, 2014 @ 8:16pm
I have a few mods, yes, although to my knowlage, none of them modify Vampire Seduction in any way. They are http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=88866662
and http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=88281218
and http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=15998

The first two, I don't see how they could have any harmful effects of the sort, but the third one I believe may be the reason why people in the castle don't see me as a vampire unless I'm in Vampire Lord form.

Try turning them off and see if you can do the quest. It might be the last one causing issues though becaue it gave me some problems when I used it a while back.

I don't really want to, since I don't like things in the game either
A. Hating me
B. burning my flesh off with sunlight
or
C. not allowing me to bottle their insides.

I'll message the mod creator and see if he or she knows the problem, and can fix it in any way.

I used BV on my vampire playthrough last week, and was able to do those side quests with no problem, which doesn't mean it's not that, per se, but if it is it might be clashing with one of the others, I guess? This thread has console commands to try finishing the quest (but proceed with caution, I guess) http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/775710-dawnguard-new-allegiances-bug-help-with-proper-completion/ Alternatively, apparently if you kill the NPC in question you fail the quest and can then go and get another one, bit extreme, especially if they're an inn keeper who never goes to bed, but it's an option...
