Riverwood Trader - Lucan Valerius Won't Trade

So I am rather far along in the game (at least time wise - lvl 54 just did the A Blade in the Dark mission for an idea)

Well, for the longest time I've not been able to talk to Lucan. There are no dialogue options, I just hit E and he just spews canned lines at me. I can't get him to trade - and I need him to trade desperately (I have a LOT of items that are worth more than 4,000 Septims that the Thieves Guild people give me.

I can't find anything online about this issue (All I can find are how to get him to have 12k Septims but that does me no good if he wont talk to me.

I've tried Disable and Enable in the console commands - nothing.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue, or of another vendor that has about the same amount of money that he would. Or if I'm desperate a mod that adds another vendor somewhere with a largest amount of money if no one knows how to fix this issue.

The only times I have even come close to this is if I entered the trader between 6 and 7 am. At 701 He would start regular talking, up to that point he would just givean Hmmm as he stood there. Have you runBoss to check your load order. Each mod further down in the mod order can overwrite a previous mod, or even DLC. Tes5edit might help too. Btw that highamount of money does happen with him.

Sometimes i was in your situation OP, in my desperation i threw that expensive item to the ground and use console command to get myself gold that worth much as that item XD

Did you get him the dragon claw? I don't believe he'll trade until you do. You need to go to Bleak Falls Barrow. If you've done this and got him the claw, then try reloading a previous save beyond that I can't help you.

I'm way the way hell and gone past getting him the claw. Oh well I guess.

I've had a problem with this as well where I'll come into the store and he'll float over the counter but will not trade with me

Yeah, I never found a resolution to this issue. I just had to find a mod to add more money to vendors. It's been a while.

I know you said it started before you install mods but from my experience I had this problem not long ago. I found out it was 'animations[www.nexusmods.com]' mod and it's blockactivation feature which sometimes cause npc to have no dialogue. Disabling and uninstalling it help me talk to him again.

I happened to have this same problem and came across this topic when I googled "Skyrim Lucan Valerius won't sell to me." I left my game and left my character facing him as if ready to speak to him and there weren't any dialogue options available. Oddly enough, after searching for solutions to the issue and reading this topic, I went back to Skyrim and found that the trading option was there again! I guess I searched for about 15 minutes for a solution, then went back and it was there again. I guess if you can't find any other solution, you could give that a try. All I did was stand facing him as if I was trying to talk to him for about 15 mins, then came back and he was ready to trade again.

Talking Mudcrab Merchant available on Workshop. Moved to Skyrim from Morrowind, has 10,000 Septims for trade and lives on a small island near Riverwood.

I had the same problem. I just traded with other traders and after a while it just went back to normal. And by a while i mean 3 months. I really have no idea what the heck happened
