900 hours in and still finding new things to do in Skyrim (Peryite)
So I've got nearly 900 hours in Skyrim and yet I still feel like I've barely scratched the surface.

Yesterday I ran into a guy who was an Afflicted having never encountered one before. I didn't know these people existed. He told me to go to the Shrine of Peryrite so I did, met Kesh the Clean, got his ingrediants, inhaled the potion and...well, if you've done the quest you know what happens after that.

It amazes me that after playing for so long there are still long sequences of play with huge environments like the Peryite quest to be discovered.

Anyone else still stumbling over big things that they simply didn't know were out there?

I'm more amazed by how you made it to 900 hours and have not met this guy before. Do you fast travel everywhere or something?

While maybe not a big thing, I played close to 100 hours on several different characters constantly restarting the game, so I was almost always in Riverwood or Whiterun for all 100 hours and only just recently noticed the ant trails after the bridge leaving Riverwood.
No, I don't fast travel much as like wandering about. Somehow just never met the guy before.

I pre-ordered Skyrim and had inslalled it once it was released in 2011. I am still playing Skyrim and yes, i am still finding new things to do after all this time. :)

i am some 1400 hour's in and last time i played i stumbled on a scene for the first time i dont whant to spoil but if you stumble on some corpse's and what look's like three Vigilant of Strandar inviting you over to ware they are let's say think about it turn around and run if you are a low level even at a high level you might struggell ps yes i have met the afflicted my favourite is the headless Horseman

I've only encountered the Headless Horseman once, possibly I've not been wandering in the right areas? I seem to remember him being vaguely near Whiterun, though I've heard he has quite a long route. I've explored reasonably widely, but there's still a lot of places I've barely touched, and several places that I stumbled across and thought 'I'm mid-quest, I'll come back to this tomorrow' then gotten sidetracked and never returned. I'm sure there are random encounters I've not had yet, too (and I'm still hoping to meet the Old Orc again, although not for a few more levels on my current playthrough...)

That's one of things that amazes me about this game. After 430 hours (a mere babe in the woods compared to many of you :) I am still stumbling upon caves, or broken down forts or some such thing that I had never investigated before.

It's very much a living world, this Skyrim.
I hate fast-travel, blech! I always disable it...

I only use the stage-coaches for when I *really* don't want to travel by foot. Which is rare, because I like finding new stuff.

I've played over 1500 hours and found something yesterday I've never noticed before. A sabre cat head on a wall (won't tell you where) tilted with a bottle of wine in it's mouth. Then later, in the same area, a bear head on the wall with a piece of cheese in it's mouth.

Gotta love skyrim!

Hehe fast travel makes you skip stuff. Wandering around is where its at and if you have darkfirebirds Random Encounters as well as Dalquists High Level Enemies mods running, fast travel becomes more like a teleport home function.

Savick, I've been there just the other day in one of my wanderings ... gota love places like that (cant make a hint without giving it away)

I'm three hundred hours in, and I haven't even touched the main quest after the Greybeards. I'm on my third character; sadly, one died to mod abuse (corrupted save), the other died to roleplay (mage became archmage), and this one seems to be surviving.

I've only hit about 20 dungeons, five questlines, did Falskaar, and am halfway through Dawnguard. I haven't even touched Dragonborn. Pretty sure my next thousand hours of gaming will be in skyrim.

I've gone a little bit further in the main quest than you, lanessar, but only about one and a bit stages (was going to do it on my last but one playthrough but I uninstalled a mod I shouldn't have and that seemed to bug the quest). I'm hoping to be able to do it in full on my current playthrough, if it doesn't work out I might decide to branch out from fighting with enchanted gear and become a real spellsword, and head up to this Mage's College I keep hearing about (I've got about halfway through that questline a couple of times, but other things keep cropping up and I get sidetracked...)

I've just stumbled across Redwater Den, I'm not sure if it's a DLC addition (don't really want to spoil anything by saying more) or whether there are any quests attached to it, but the skooma there is amazing. (Don't think that's much of a spoiler, given the lookouts aren't exactly subtle about it.)

Redwater Den is part of Dawnguard DLC, Vampire side of quests I have not done it yet, after so many hours of playing, that is the only main quest (choosen side) yet to be acted on.
