Upgrading Skyrim to Legendary Edition
I have Vanilla Skyrim & I want to get legendary edition. Can I upgrade the vanilla version or do I have to buy LE seperately at full price? If I buy LE will I have access to my save files or is my only option to buy each DLC seperately? If anyone has any answeres for this please help me cause the Steam Store doesn't even hint at an answer.

yes, your vanilla is same with Legendary without all the DLC version. If you buy the LE it will only add the DLC in your Vanilla version, if you buy all the DLC it will be like buying the LE, for me i have Vanilla and buy all the DLC when its on sale., But in long run its much cheaper to buy the LE when its on sale.

If I buy LE will I still have to pay full price or will I get a discount since I already basicaly paid for part of it?

No discount; LE itself is a discount.

If you need it now, then you'll have to buy it at full price. But if you wait for a sale, then it will be ~$20.

What you can do is buy each DLC seperately for ~$45 [Dawnguard $20, Dragonborn $20, Hearthfires $5].
I bought Skyrim and the 3 DLCs seperately, and my game is exactly the same as the LE version.

or check out if a store in your region is doing a comparable deal on the anthology. If you can get the anthology for the price of the legendary edition on steam, you'll get the legendary edition and a whole lot more.

Edit:- just googled it and I got offered the antholgy for £24.99 as my first result returned.

might be too late to post this, but the legendary edition steam key is 12€ here:
" http://www. cdkeys. com/pc/games/the-elder-scrolls-v-5-skyrim-legendary-edition-pc-cd-key "
so it's like getting a discount (delete the spaces in the link, i put them there to avoid steam censoring it)

Game itself installs and works fine though.

SKSE addon worked sort of. It refuses to close (Steam+B shortcut doesn't work for me and never has). It runs, scans and loads all the addons but when the game is run you get an error about SKSE being required. Mods that don't require it work fine AFAICT.

Now my rant :p

Actually most of the shortcuts are unreliable. If I knew how to delete all of them I would in a heartbeat...and disable every single 'Confirm' window I can find, turn off auto-launch of Steam in Desktop Mode, and force Steam to stop adding free games to my account without my permission 'that cannot be removed'. Oh and clickable trackpads just suck in general IMO ;)

Oh and I'm waiting for somebody to make raised vinyl skins for the Steam and ... buttons. Bumpy and high, impossible to miss even without looking. :)

Ok I'm done lol.

Thanks for necro'ing a thread that is 8 years old.

You have two options - start your own thread instead of necroing a thread from nine years ago, or, go to the steam deck community pages.
