Bleak Falls Barrow First Puzzle Help

I'm at the point in the game where i need to get the golden claw from within Bleak Falls Barrow. I went down to the place where a bandit outlaw got killed by an arrow trap, and I adjusted the pillars there to the correct placement (snake, snake, whale going from left to right). The door in that room is still not opening. I can't progress further in the game because of this. Please help!

One of the animals has fallen down, next to the dead hunter.

edit - did you pull the lever.

It is from left to right snake, snake, whale. Then pull the lever.

If that doesn't work, open console and type tcl to walk through the gate. Then enter tcl again to re-enable collision.
