A way to refresh mods?
I have a few mods with SKSE and SkyUI installed such as Isoku's Cold and Wet and iNeed. When I was playing today the mods simply stopped updating in-game. For example, in iNeed, a widget will appear in the bottom right when your character becomes hungry. Then your character will auto-eat any food in the inventory and the widget will disappear, signifying that your hunger has been satiated. But nothing happens now.

Even if I go into my inventory and manually eat food, nothing happens. Now, I do not think this is isolated to Isoku's mods. None of my other mods that give status messages are not updating in the game-world anymore. I can still have mods function, such as custom models and such, but nothing like status messages appear like they once did.

Is there a way to sort of refresh whatever loads the scripts for these mods? Is there a way o bump them back into action?

Have you tried deactivating and reactivating the affected mods

Bad idea. Do not deactivate a mod and then save and then reactivate it. You will just cause issues in your save, expecially with scripted mods

Can you please provide your load order. If you have Conveniant Horses or Jaxonz Diagnostics can you also please run a script latency test via either of their MCM menus?

This often happens when a script goes rambo and other scripts dont have time to run anymore. You can disable alot of mods ingame via MCM: INeed, Wet & Cold, Frostfall, to name a few. It wont screw up your saves. I'd go to an interior cell, disable all mods via mcm, that can be disabled, re-enable them one by one and hope that the issue gets fixed. If not, next step would be save file cleaning: if the cleaner detects orphaned scripts and deleting them fixes the issue, yoiu have a buggy mod somewhere

I ended up un-installing Wet and Cold, the polling was getting cumbersome and scripts were hanging a lot.

Fair enough, but remember, you will need to either start a new game, or reload to a save before you first installed the mod, or you *will* end up with an increasingly broken game. (Okay, there's a possibility you might not, but it's pretty much a certainty, and not worth the risk, IMO.)

Wet and Cold is probably one of the singularly most well written scripted mods you will ever find. Its very light on performance for what it does, its performance can be lightened in MCM, and in fact its performance just got a major update with the 2.0 version. I would look else ware for your issues. Wet and Cold might be the mod showing the symptoms, but I doubt VERY much that its the cause

To be fair, one save did become horribly slow after uninstalling W&C. I ended up having to find an older save that was more stable. Most of my characters have experienced most mods I've ever installed so I don't doubt that there's 'stuff' lurking in there.

Quite probably, and I've no idea which version I was on. The main reason I'd still had it installed was pretty much for the fur cloaks but once my game was struggling I thought it wasn't worth if just for some cloaks I could get elsewhere (or mod their's myself).

The new version is quite smart, because it allows you to add items in to levelled lists. This lessens the amount of scritps running in the area, because spawns are often already equipped with the stuff they would need to survive in the climate.

That option is not active by default. You will have to add items to levelled lists from text buttons in MCM. I do advice doing so.

What comes to fur cloaks; did you install high resolution versions of them from installer? That may have caused your problem.

Is it because of fast-travelling? i had an occasion where Frostfall stopped updating after i'd F-T'd home from Winterhold, i found that saving, exiting, and reloading the game fixed it without dramatic interventions.
Ilja Aug 6, 2015 @ 10:10am
It rarely actually stops from updating. Frostfall seems to warn each and every time it fails to get enough script data to make a check. If you follow bars, you notice that they usually work correctly, because mod makes another check and finds that everything is in order.

It complains almost constantly when you are working with Hunterborn. I don't usually rush the work, so that Frostfall can make it's checks, but I have also disabled the useless warning. I would see if mod would have really stopped working from lacking wetness/warmth bars, or lack of movement in them.
Armchair Civilian Aug 6, 2015 @ 10:20am
Yeah, i've noticed the warnings that mean nothing (with Hunterborn, as you say), but on this occasion it definitely stopped any of the temperature / wetness bars from moving, with no warnings whatsoever. Fortunately it was easily fixable, probably a one-off, by the sounds of it.

Sure, I can show pic of my load order. I used LOOT for a preliminary sorting, and did the rest manually per recommendation of various mod authors, but did not change much of what LOOT did in the end.

{LINK REMOVED}

I did not know Convinent Horses had a script latency test. I have MCM, so I'll go do that now and let you know the results.

Oh and thanks for the replies!!!

(EDIT: well apparantly Steam flags my link to the pictures on media fire. know a quick and easy way to show pictures here?)

I could not open the Convenient Horses settings in MCM and out of MCM from the spell. I ran a latency test with Jaxonz Diagnostics, though.
