[HELP] Chinese Language Issues
I am attempting to play Skyrim Legendary Edition in Traditional Chinese. The language options for the game appear to allow Traditional Chinese just the same as Japanese is available. However, when I switch to it, the only thing in Chinese is the startup menu of the game. The in-game menu and the rest of the game is still in english.

Shouldn't it be possible to play in Chinese if the options say you should be able to?

I change the language setting to Chinese Traditional, wait for the game to update (it downloads some large files), and once it is complete, I play the game. I have also tried changing Steam itself to Chinese traditional and simplified, to no avail. I have also uninstalled Skyrim and reinstalled it with the Chinese traditional game setting chosen, also to no avail.

Can anyone help please?

Anyone else tried playing the game in Chinese?

Same issue here.

You could try contacting Bethesda or looking at their FAQ site. When you go to play Skyrim, on the launcher click on Tech Support and you will be transferred to their site.

What does your stringfiles say? Does it says english + updateenglish? Is there even a chinese version? Try this one: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=374066930

Thanks, my string files have both english + updateenglish and chinese +updatechinese.

I believe there is a Chinese version. If you go to your Skyrim properties in Steam, you can select language, and traditional Chinese is one of the options.

Does that mod come with voice-overs? I saw no mention of it, but the voices are actually more important to me than anything.

Solution:

1. find the file Skyrim.ini under directory Document/My Games/Skyrim
2. edit the file: change the second line to sLanguage=CHINESE
3. relaunch the game

That works for me.

Strange that it works for you, considering the fact that Bethesda replied to me a while ago telling me that they did not create a Chinese version of Skyrim...

I think only the legendary edition supports Chinese.
