How would i backup things I had with mod organizer?
I recently decided to do OS reinstall because my pc is working kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ those days for some unknown reasons, and I intend not to lose all of those things I modded.

I know where the hell is modded folders, but how would i backup them? Do I just backup the modded folder and some txt file that have modlist and stuff?

Go to your MO installation folder and back up these folders:

Profiles
Mods
Overwrite

If you want to be doubly safe also back up your downloads folder so you have all the archives as well.

Then after you reinstall, just reinstall MO and put your backed up folders into the new MO directory and you should be all set :)

Thank you, good thing I don't use mod organizer's download stuff, so I can just backup those.

I keep the downloads because some mods use an installer which only installs what you select. If you want to change an option, e.g. because some other mod needs a different object or texture, you can re-install and get the correct install.

I just backup the whole mo directory.

I stumbled upon this tip once, but never been able to find it again. If you head over to the "profiles" folder in your MO2 installation directory, find the profile you're using (usually named "Default"), and check for a file or files with names like "modlist.txt.2023_06_21_07_28_07", those are the backups created by MO2 when you hit the backup button. MO2 never tells you where the backups are stored so I thought I'd leave this here since this Steam discussion still pops up in Google searches.
