aela shield glitch

i was given a shield to give to aela but it says shes out at a giants camp.i know this is a known glitch and ive seen a video where you have to glitch outta whiterun.put i cant manage to do it and i think it patched.so i was worrying if there was another way to fix it or any mod patchs i can get

You could try console commands. Hit "~" key. Type "help aela" and hit enter. Then type "player.placeatme <code that came up when you went "help aela"> 1". Hit enter. Don't enter the "" or <>. Those are demonstrative punctuations.

Okay. I looked it up. "player.placeatme 0001a696 1"

this worked but when i give her the shield she says the dialogue but the shield dosent get removed from my inventory and i dont get the next part of the quest

You should use moveto not placeatme. Placeatme will spawn a copy of the original and it won't work right.

so i tryed "player.moveto 0001a696 1" but it didnt seems to work and it turns out she did take the shield but the quest is still stuck at the same stage

[edit] did you use the placeatme command? that would make a copy of her and might glitch the quest. wish people would stop suggesting the placeatme command for NPCs. as cfs111 suggested use moveto 000***** to move to them, or 000***** moveto.player to move them to you (compainions etc).

thanks alot got it to work.what i had to do is moveto her and when i spawned near her we both feel so i had to turn god mode on.then i basically had to hit her then lead her to the whiterun gate and i couldnt get her to stop attacking me so i hit a guard and got sent to jail and this worked she was in the loction where she was meant to be.only problem is i know have two aela in my world does anyone know how to delete of them.thanks to everyoen that helped me means alot

If you have these 2 Aela AND if you know who is the good one, you can use the command MarkForDelete on the false one (and on her and not on the space). Save before in any case and save after. With the reload the marked one will be disappeared.
