[SOLVED] Microsoft C++ Visual Runtime Error R6025?
Hello, I've been having my first issue with Skyrim (with over 120+ hours).

As described in the title, it's a runtime error, and it stops the game. I think others have had it (something to do with DLC) but I haven't found a solution. I've never had issues with it, and I know it's not my computer. I recently upgraded from an Acer with Windows 7 (the error appeared there too) and now I'm on a Dell Inspiron with Windows 10 (previously 8.1). I'll post the specs, but first I'll describe the error.

I'll be playing Skyrim, for a good while (probably about an hour), then the screen will be still (the sound keeps rolling) and I'll hear the sound you get when an error occurs. I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it to see the error message (which I can't view, I have to hover over it, hence no screenshot) Microsoft C++ Visual Runtime Error R6025. Then I must close the error message manually. After this, a window will say "The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution, then both Skyrim and the solution box close.

I can't disable the DLC (I've already started Hearthfire and Dragonborn, just finished Dawnguard) and I can't tell you exactly when it started (though I'm fairly certain it was around when I started Dawnguard)

I've verified the cache, and because this issue persisted across multiple computers, I assume this is an issue with the game itself? I don't see the point of doing a reinstall, as I just got this laptop (and installed Skyrim day of).

Specs:
Model: Dell Inspiron 3543
Processor: Intel Core i5-5200U
CPU Speed: 2.20 GHz
OS: Windows 10 (previously 8.1), 64 bit
8.00 GB of RAM

I have Skyrim and Steam up to date, and I'm not sure about the C++s themselves, or which ones are used by Skyrim. I don't have any other issues (aside from various texture glitches, but that's because I don't have a very nice GPU [integrated into the Intel, I believe :/] and those are VERY minor)

I know Skyrim (like most Bethesda games) can be very fickle and buggy, but I'm at a loss for what to do. It's really annoying, especially since I'm always either saving every 10 minutes or forgetting for an hour. I'm fairly certain it had to do with DLC, and I'm willing to turn off Hearthfire (I heard it could be the source of this problem, and I don't use it as much). Could someone explain to me what happens if you disable DLC, but have already used it? I assume it just disappears, right?

If it helps, the most recent crash was the main quest line, so I know it's not action-specific, or human error. Also, I don't use mods.

I'd really appreciate any help, as Skyrim is my baby and the game I've played the most on Steam, and it's frustrating to be constantly worried about this.

I have a similar problem, but apparently with a difference I haven't seen anyone mention anywhere.

When this first started happening to me I was in full-screen and had nothing else open so I couldn't task switch out of the game to find out what the error was. Thinking it might be related to overheating my video card (the fan and heatsink should probably be cleaned, although a subsequent inspection didn't reveal the dust bunny clog I expected to find), I switched to Windowed mode hoping to be able to see the actual error when it happened.

And it didn't happen again.
As long as I play in Windowed mode, no crashes.

Meanwhile I discovered and fixed a dead fan in my Power Supply.
So I tried Skyrim on Full Screen again, and again it crashed after a few minutes of playing.
This time however I had other things open in the background so I was able to bring up the Alt-Tab menu and discover the error is actually the "C++ Redistributable" problem.

Has anyone else noticed that switching to Windowed mode seems to "fix" whatever is triggering this?
dang, that necro
Did you try the updating/console command thing? I never considered windowed-mode when I had the issue.

Well, on-topic at least.

Update anyway- I had already tried reinstalling the included C++ redistributable, and then downloading a fresh copy of the 2010 redistributable with no fix.

But last night I tried downloading and installing the 2013 version and played an hour or so with no crashes, at least so far, on Full Screen, so maybe that was it.

Fingers crossed.

Darn, tried the C++2013 install after deletion of 2010, still get the error. Anybody found an universal fix?
Hershos 2016 年 2 月 6 日 下午 2:16
No, sorry. The only way I've ever fixed it is the 2013 update. However, someone mentioned a console command, maybe try it?

I don't believe the error has anything to do with Your version of C++. It is an error caused by a quest you activate in the Soul Cairn.

Have you recently been to the Soul Cairn? If you don't finish the quest from Jiub it causes problems.

Try the solution I mentioned previously.

or type this into console :

setstage dlc1vqsaint 20
setstage dlc1vqsaint 30
setstage dlc1vqsaint 200

You can also go back to the Soul Cairn and finish Jiubs quest.

You can use this mod, but it requires the mod to be installed before you cause the glitch or before you enter the Soul Cairn to be safe.

I am surprised this problem hasn't been addressed by unofficial patches.

I've also been interested in building houses in the outlying keeps where that's necessary, but among the suggested causes of this problem several people had mentioned that it seemed to crop up after building a house. I've been avoiding doing that because I don't want to trigger it again, just in case.

Has anyone been able to verify or disprove this particular notion?

Wow, RIP. Was wondering why no one had replied yet. I thought I posted an answer days ago. Blame Steam mobile. Anyway, I haven't tested this personally, as I didn't have an interest in starting the Heartfire yet. If you want, I can (back up, and) build a house in my game, to see. However, this might not be represntative of how or if it will work for you, as Skyrim tends to be a little unpredictable sometimes. Though I'm fairly certain it's tied in with Dawnguard, at least I won't have to keep forgetting which city my main house is in :)

I will be damned. This helped a lot. I got the x64. I'll have to see if it pops up again but it fixed the immediate problem.
я сам на токое наткнулся тоже незнаю что делать

Thanks! But I finally did go ahead and build Lakeview Manor, and aside from the rather minor annoyance of having a Dragon skeleton take up residence on my front lawn there haven't been any further problems with the C++ thing. I think updating to the most recent redistrubutable was key to solving at least my individual problems with it.

(And I was able to banish the dragon at last by figuring out the relevant console commands, thankfully..! )

So hopefullly Hearthfire isn't going to rear it's head in the future...

Great! By the way, mind sharing that console command? I have twin-noclip dragons taking up space in Whiterun, and no idea where they came from lol

Absolutely remarkably incredible Dexter... I have been beating my head up on this. Saving every time I turned around just to progress cause I get the freeze. You sir are incredible! No idea how you pinpointed down to that specific with the quest but great eye!

DEXTER!!!! THANK YOU!! I am going to try this tomorrow but this makes so much sense!! Thank you so so much :D This bug was really starting to errr...bug me!!
dizzy 2016 年 10 月 14 日 上午 12:00
Dexter, the runtime error has NOTHING to do with the Soul Cairn. Where is your proof? I havent even been to the Soul Cairn yet and I get this problem.
