Problem with my follower changing gear

My follower change to the better gear when i give it to her but when i tell her to part our ways next time i will see her after loading screen she will use her old armor how do i change it ? can i completely delete her old armor with a console command so she don't have it and have no choice but to use the armor i give ?

Using any popular follower mod will allow you to permanently remove the default gear from your followers and replace it with what ever you like.

- Ultimate Follower Overhaul (UFO) is the simplest one, but it is getting out of date.

- Amazing Follower Tweaks (AFT) is the most widely used. Learning the dialogue mechanics may take a while, but mod actually provides you in game guidebook.

- Extensible Follower Framework (EFF) is the most modern one. It has a practical command window, although that may not be for everyone's taste. I also requires some getting used to, but works quite well now days.

My own preference is currently AFT. I don't really recommend going with UFO, unless current authors make some new compatibility updates to it.

When you dismiss your follower they are 'off duty' and revert back to their own gear. Similar to the way people wear civilian clothes when not working in uniformed jobs.

When you order them to follow you again they will revert back to the armour you gave them after a very short time period.

I think the game just likes to have them in whatever their designed look is. Farkas actually had no armour in his original inventory, even though he's shown wearing it all the time. I gave him an ebony set and he reverts back to his usual look when not with me. He still carries around the greatsword I gave him though.

The npc default outfits are marked as hidden, if you remove them with console commands they dont equip them anymore.
But yeah, I would say AFT is the best follower mod, I used to use UFO but there was a mod I wanted that conflicted with it, have used AFT ever since.
