Quest Markers Not Appearing
The title says it all. No matter what quest, it doesn't appear.
And yes, they are quests which do have them.

If you have the dlc some quests with random locations can appear on solsthiem. That may be the issue.

They aren't Dragonborn quests.

Do you have your quest markers turned on? You have to select the quest in your journal to have it show up on the map. If the quest is miscellaneous,then you need to select the quest and select the "miscellaneous" tab. (A little arrow-thing will appear next to the quest name when its marker is activated.)

They aren't Dragonborn quests.
They don't have to be DB quests, again vanilla game quests that have a random location will use Solsthiem locations. And, if you don't want to believe me then, "If a quest has been assigned to a target on SolstheimDB or any other new lands added by mods, there will be no quest markers while you are on mainland Skyrim, and the same is true in reverse (if you are on Solstheim or a new land, there will be no markers pointing to Skyrim)."

Well I have the same atm I need shalidors insight for the college still no map marker. It's not on solstheim, maybe in the forgotten vale or maybe in Falskaar or Wyrmstooth ... however I'll see.

@ SpeedFreak1972 Yep, that is one of the many quests that have a randomized location for the quest object. Don't think I've found Gunmar in Skyrim since DB was installed. LOL

It will only be Falskaar and Wyrmstooth if it's modded.

I've seen experienced players have that issue. Your opening post didn't really say what you have and have not tried, so there's a lot of room for suggestions.
