Stuck in walking mode
So i was playing Skyrim and decided to sneak up on a guard to pickpocket them when they suddenly talked to me, it wasn't just general talk like when you walk by it was a conversation where you pick what you say. After I exited out of the conversation i was stuck in walking mode and when I press the walk key I run, I'm really confused because this keeps happening.

Try caps lock, it toggles walk - run.

That was it but i changed it to alt, i've been using alt as my walk/run button but it is inverted some how. For example it is supposed to toggle walk when i press and hold it down and when i let go it should let me run but it is inverted so pressing alt makes me run and not pressing anything makes me walk.

I play with controller, so I have no clue about key bindings.

Try setting your controls to there "default" settings, save, exit then if that worked...return controls to preffered setting

You guys probably know this or have figured this out by now, but for future reference to anyone reading this: This bug happens when you hold shift and talk to an NPC. To reverse it again, hold shift and talk to an NPC you can talk to. This should fix the reversed shift. If this doesn't work, you will have to restart the game, but you can still save where you are, it won't affect how you walk even if you save. :steamhappy:

I believe it can actually happen with any menu/interface. Funny enough, I've experienced this a lot because I have Tourette's Syndrome, and I'm constantly pressing the Shift key while playing.

Yeah, you can fix it with an alt-tab method but they were talking about NPCs, so I didn't mention it. So, again for future reference, if you want caps lock to be OFF while running is normal, there is an easy fix. Press Alt + Tab, press Caps Lock once so it turns on. The game is frozen while in Alt + Tab, so it won't recognize the Caps Lock press. Now, Alt + Tab again so you're in the game and press Caps Lock again. This should turn Caps Lock off and you should have your running back to normal.
