Put the amulet on. If nothing happens cast a destruction spell or Fus shout at the section of wall that the amulet was originally.
I did attempt at removing amulet using console and sadly it doesn't seem to work? I still have it even after entering the command...
Don't think it will work, but try "setstage mg02 35" in the console. If it works and your journal updates then tcl through the wall. You can then;
prid 0001C1A1
moveto player
this will bring Tolfdir to you.
The only thing I can suggest is to revert back to the earliest save you have prior to entering the ruins and delete all saves after that, then exit the game and verify your cache integrity. This might get rid of the scripting error that is causing the problem.
You will need to re-clean your master files with TES5edit after integrity check.
@mpd1958 - No. There is no visual change, with or without amulet. And I am not being told to use magic, had to read guides to know that is what supposedly should work.
Right now I deleted that save and I keep on playing from earlier spot but that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amulet is still in my inventory despite not even entering Saarthal in this save file. Verified cache so far. Will check out the thing you just mentioned if everything else fails.
There is a program/mod called "Script Cleaner" you can find on Google and Nexus I believe. I would look into that next. It is suppose to clean your saves and delete/erase orphaned scripts that are not suppose to be there. This might get rid of the amulet scripting and allow you to continue the quest normally.
Here is a really silly questtion that just popped into my head. Do you have the right quest activated?
I ask because I believe there are actually two quest that deal with Saarthal. The one about the three amulet fragments, and the Collage of Winterhold quest "Under Saarthal" dealing with the orb. Just wondering
