Sofia Follower Causing Crashes
After trying to to the quest "the Silver Hand" for the companions, I crashed several times after drinking the blood in the Underforge. Turns out it was because Sofia followed me inside. When I left her in Riverwood and tried the quest again it worked.

However, when I returned to Riverwood to collect Sofia I crashed when I got near the place. I tried again several times with the same result. I then tried to use the spell to summon her. I crashed a few seconds after using the spell when she was about to appear. Everything else seems to work fine. Only when I get near to Sofia's location I crash.

Any idea's what's causing this and how I might fix it?

Have you checked your load order? I use LOOT. It works well I no problems with Sofia.

I use LOOT too, tried it several times, didn't change anything. I've also tried resetting and reinstalling her. Still crashed when I got near the stables

Any mods that might affect the stables? Though i don't see how they'd create the problem with the Underforge

None that directly affect the stables, I have SMIM, but that didn't cause any problems when I first recruited her.

Anything you've installed since then? Or even uninstalled? Also, is it night-time when you're going to the stables? (just in case it's spawning vampires, and your system is struggling to handle lots at once)

This may not be the best idea. Or it may be a great one. Try uninstalling Sofia. Run game. Once you're in game make a hard save. Leave game totally. Reinstall Sofia. Go back to save file. Sometimes you have to use a save file that doesn't have the mod. If you're really unlucky, you can break your save file by doing this. But if you're CTDing, then your save file is toast anyways. What do you have to lose?

GODS BLESS YOU IT WORKED!!! I accidentally loaded a save where I was standing at the stables and there she was! AND I didn't CTD

thanks for the help, hopefully it won't happen again. It would be useful to find out what caused the problem in the first place but right now I'm just happy it works XD
