Mod organiser, red and green highlights?
Im using mod organiser and whenever I select a mod that I've downloaded, for some mods, it highlights other dowloaded mods in either green or red. What does this mean?

Is shows what mods the content in that mod overwrites and what gets overwritten, just like +/- logos in Flags-column.

Red color shows what mod has files overwriting resources from mod you have selected.
Green color shows what mod has resources getting overwritten by mod you have selected.

Oh ok that makes sense, I was afraid it was something to do with compatibility

Indeed sometimes these red/green flags could indicate a kind of incompatibility related issues! If two mods share or overwrites the same resources, the last one in priority order wins

This was very helpful. I am currently loading mods using Mod Organizer and am wondering if using those colors to determine load order is effective.

Have a care with that approach. In many cases one mod taking precedence over another is a good thing, and is intended. Not always, of course, but often.

The best advice I've been given is that, in general, left pane load order should fairly closely resemble right pane plugin order. That is only a general guide and should also only be a starting point. You'll have to give some thought to what a particular mod is doing or providing to make choices about what resources it is overriding or whether its resources should be overridden.

Well, I've installed a bunch of mods (about 70), and the game runs pretty well (Only 1 CTD so far!) . LOOT says theres a bunch of identical records, etc but i've tried using TES5Edit and simply can't get the hang of it. Same with Wyre Bash. At this point I'm going to play until it breaks, or somebody answers my craigslist offer to pay cash to setup my install :-)

Simple instructions[forums.nexusmods.com] for cleaning Master files. Same instructions can be applied to any mod -- only clean them if LOOT complains AND if the mod author doesn't recommend against cleaning.

Downloaded TES5Edit from Nexus and keep getting errors extracting it. "Unknown method Edit Scripts" Ugh! Not a good start!
