I can't defeat Alduin in mission "Alduin's bane", please help..

I just can't hit Alduin when he lands on the ground. I use dragonrend on him, he lands and i hit him, but nothing! His life is still full. What can I do? Is that a bug or what?

You don't just bring his life force down and talk to him

Are you at "throat of the world" or at Sovngarde? You can only kill him at Sovngarde.

Yes, I'm at throat of the world. I should have said defeat, not kill :D

Once to get his health down just active talk on him, he will talk and fly off to Sovngrade to recover his wounds. Actually you don't kill there at all he disappears and you don't get his soul. Game opening, just like the movies (leaves the door open for a sequel)

God! - is he going to be in a bad mood if they ever do decide to bring him back - not sure I'd want to play "that" game :P

Keep him down with the Dragonend shout and keep hitting him till he starts to talk. You can't kill him until later at Sovngarde.

Actually, there's a bug in the alduin's bane quest where alduin's hp cannot go down at all, if that's happen just reload previous save and try the quest again (I felt it once before)

Wow, I never knew you even could talk to him. I just decreased his health till the scene ended!
