The above site is usually good for workarounds and such if you get stuck on a mission.
By having a clear restart the TCL command should work!
Just don't rush it take your time!
The Clipping trick is just silly IMO!
Either walk through a door or use tcl if you need to!

p.s. Trying to use the plate glitch would not have worked, because there's nothing behind that door but empty space. Glitching through won't magically load the interior, which is in a separate world space.
I immediately left, and--I don't know if this was the problem, but I did two things when the glitch happened: I entered the temple with my weapon drawn, and I entered before Erandur did (after you talk to him outside, it says to "follow Erandur").
I sheathed my weapon, then talked to Erandur, then waited for him to go in. I followed him in, in this fashion, and he opened the door no problems.
