Taste of Death, WtF?
I've played a lot of games, and had to do some pretty uncomfortable things in some of them, but cannibalism, really? What in Skyrim was going thru the mind of the Dev team member who came up with that? Also, the reward for killing and eating a perfectly innocent priest is pretty paltry imo. I just don't get it. It was bugging me that the quest was still open on my Journal, so I went to the cave and killed the cannibal, which has removed it thankfully. Now I just need to find a way of removing Boethia's quest without having to slaughter some poor innocent. Any idea's?

Cannibalism is not that bad, unless if i am the one who is gonna be eaten
just skip the quest if it really bothers you, or figure out how to do the console commands for it. I never used the ring but the quest was, 'interesting'.

I killed all the cannibals that attended the dinner. Of course, that upset the few that weren't there but heard about it. Also, I won't complete the Boethia Quest, no Dark Brotherhood either.
If you want though, just find some scumbag.... I'm sure people have some suggestions ... to lead to the slaughter.

I did it once on a character for whom it made sense. The ring was pretty useful, but I only managed to play that character a few more hours because, nah, not my cup of tea.

you will need the ring for the " Oblivion Walker " achievement

It is a bit weird but some of the dialogue with the cults members outside of the quest is quite funny once you realise what they do on their own time.

But yeah - unless you`re playing with mods that affect the vanilla health or stamina regen rate to something more taxing - the reward is not that impressive.

That being said - if you`re comfortable being a werewolf that goes on rampages I honestly dont see how it is any worse!

I am certainly glad I did the quest once, because as you say, it's pretty entertaining when you find out certain... little secrets around Markarth.

My character who did it, did it pretty early on, and was mainly adventuring around the Reach, so it did come in quite handy when coming up against Forsworn (I'm not sure if they're really any tougher than regular bandits, but they always seem it to me).

And, yeah, that's a fair point, really - I have never actually played as a werewolf, though (I've *been* one but I've never really gone on a wolfy rampage). Been a vampire, mind you, and that was jolly good fun, with mods.

Thanx all, really interesting responses! I don't want to be a Werewolf or a Vampire either, maybe I might try them after several playthroughs as other more 'righteous' characters. They don't disgust me like cannibals tho, which says more about me than the game I guess. Hell, I even have qualms about doing the Theives Guild quest! I guess I'm just not cut out for wrong or bad stuff. One of my great moments so far in Skyrim, was when I earned Dawnbreaker, and agreed to use it against evil for the pursuit of good. I would never be able to draw it again if I went round killing and eating people! :)
MageThis and JZM, I should've done what you did, I really do loathe cannibals! :)
Oh the number of NPCs my various characters have consumed over the years. Truly the sweetest of meats.

Ugh - Paladins - nauseate me more than cannibals =P

Also - agreeing to do the bidding of any Daedra is not neccessarily a good thing ;-)

I highly recommend turning into a werewolf during a civil war battle though - much chaos ensues!

Thanx Two Bears and Mumbles. I might well give each a try, eventually. :) I'm not a Paladin btw, fell off that perch some time back. I'm just a Nord, tho with a special mission, trying to do the right thing, and having a destiny for greater things than cannibalism and bestiality. :)

The only thing with wanting to e the 'white knight' in a game, is that by not being a vampire or werewolf, means that you can not finish the Companions' quest-line, nor be a true companion. And as for the vampire one, not being it or werewolf, means that your Dawnguard DLC (if you have it), is wasted since there is nothing to gain with it unless you allow yourself to be a wolf or vamp. But eh, we all have our own thing.

Depends if you play the game in a number-crunching Build Best Character sort of way or not, really. I actually enjoyed the Dawnguard DLC content more as a vampire, but it's still fun on the Dawnguard side, there's new spells and crossbows and stuff, too.

The Lycanthropy can be cured and if I play a White Knight type, I see justification in making the ultimate sacrifice and becomming a werewolf to then turn around and save my peers and myself from the Daedric Lord Hircine and finishing the Companions questline in the process. Then, the only thing you do not do is Help Aela with the Totems or Hircine, as that is in favor of Hircine. The way I see it, without you, the Circle consists of 5 servants of Hircine, though 3 are reluctant. If you finish the Companions and do the Purity quest 3 times, the final version of the Circle consists of 3 redeemed humans and only one servant of Hircine, and you give a former servant a cleansed afterlife. In those playthroughs, I just don't use Beastform at all and treat the thing as a horrible curse (pray to shrines for strength, nerf the build, etc). In these types of builds, I also end up telling Serana to cure herself.

Dawnguard isn't wasted if you choose the Dawnguard side of the dlc, hello Advanced Dwarven Crossbows, anyone? Killing vamps, anyone? I also, in a little twist, will turn and use the Mace of Molag Bal against vampires. Use the creation of their master against them is something interesting. Dawnbreaker is good for that too. So, the build, while White knightish, sort of turns evil against itself. The idea of the redemption of an inherently evil artifact by using it to do good, is very appealing and a nice slap in the face to the Daedra if you choose to play that way.

On such builds though, at least the Namira quest gives you an option. Wish Boethiah's did, but I simply choose not to read the book, and then only a misc quest objective is left in my quest log. The other Daedric quests, can I think be avoided pretty well and others give options to stick it to the Daedra. A White Knight would TOTALLY do Waking Nightmare because you're helping a Priest of Mara.
