Jyrik Gauldurson glitch. help!

Ok so i was doing the saarthal quest and im up to the part where im facing jyrik gauldurson. i keep hitting him and his health is going down but whenever it reduces to 0 he just goes on his knees for a bit. does anyone know how to fix this or something?

There was someone else who had the same problem, including me as well. I think the issue is caused by taking pieces of the Gauldur Amulet from the Qasmoke room by using the console command to enter that location. That's why I and the other person experienced the glitch, so that must be why this part of the quest is glitched. I don't know of any other explanations other than that, so you may have to get a solution from someone else if you didn't take the amulet pieces from Qasmoke.

From memory you cannot kill him until Toldir deactivates the eye which seems to work like a life boost for Jyrik So if you get too far ahead of toldir or ....

So you could try casting lightning at the orb as well

Yes you have to close the eye, or Tolfdir does, then you can kill him.

For the love of Arkay, why would you necromance a thread that has been dead for four and a half years to ask that? Not only is he one of the most important members of the College of Winterhold questline, but an above post contains a link to the wiki about this quest, so you could easily find out.
