A New Debt
Just by doing a simple 'helping hand' deed, I've accrued a debt to a guy named Mogrul. I don't want to pay him, on a point of principle, but he's gonna keep sending thugs after me. I don't mind that so much, could be fun, but it might be inconvenient, depending on timing. So, I'm wondering, if I kill Mogrul, will it remove the contract thugs? Would there be any other repercussions from this action? ie getting arrested, hassle from guards etc.

to finish the quest you must pay off the debt or kill him. apparently you will be harassed again by his thugs until the quest is over

and depending on where and how you kill him you will get in trouble

Save. Whack Mogrul. Check for Bounty notification. If yes, reload save... you don't want to compound your problem so try to be discreet (no witnesses, especially chickens).
Killing Mogrul does terminate the contract.
