Merchant Investing HELP (RESOLVED)
So, Lucan has 16839, I invest 500, he has over 30,000 and I hit that glitch where I can offload my goods to him but get no gold...
Is there a way around this, and what use is the Investment Perk if it negates saleability?
I have the Mod "Levelling Merchants' Wallets", which raises the gold level for 8-% of the merchants in the game. And sold a S22tload, but his average gold is now around 16k-19k from the mod.
I know there's that bug that does this at 30k so am wondering if there's yet been found a way around said bug (aware it may simply be that this Mod has instead gone past its Early Game Helpfulness Use-By Date...)

Why did he have such a lot of money to begin with? Had you bought a lot of stuff off him? Maybe try again after waiting a couple of days (or use the save-punch-reload glitch) to reset his inventory/gold)?

Sorry Gnewna I should have put that info into my OP - slowness of brain....

Ah, in that case, I suppose the usefulness of the perk is that it probably works fine without mods that boost merchant gold :)

Just had a bit of a search, and it seems the only way around the glitch is to use console commands to add a negative amount of gold (which effectively subtracts that amount) to the merchant so they have just under 30k (e.g. if he's got 31050 then you'd need to open the console, select Lucan with the mouse, and type "additem f -1100" (without the quote marks, obv) which should leave him with 29950, I think.) Then start selling stuff to them and don't buy anything off them that will bring them back over 30k.

Awesomeness - thank you (once again) gnewna :)

Didn't know about adding negative amounts... That rocks!
Yes the usefulness of this perk becomes apparent :)

Save before you do it, of course, just in case I've got it wrong, but I *think* it should work.
