How to furnish a house?????
Hello everyone, I've just finished building a new house in Falkreach, I would like to know how does one furnish this new dewling, table, chairs, beds, etc? It's one thing to build this house, but if its going to be a new home, what do I do, sleep on floor, eat on floor, etc? That would take me back to the stone age and then some:), don't mind roughing it up a bit but this is ridiculous...
Must be someone in Skyrim that sells furniture or maybe a mod to build what is needed....

Thank you

The uh... crafting table..

Yeah, like the Kaiser said. Inside your house, each large area, supposing you don't have just a one room cabin, you will find a crafting table. You will need to craft (on the table outside) hinges, nails, locks, and iron fittings. Also need some logs from your local saw mill. The outside crafting table is only for building the house. Furnishings inside...use inside crafting table... also need goat horns for lighting. When finished, the outside blueprint table will remove any inside crafting tables. If you have no furniture the crafting table is easy to find.

Sorry, can't help. Got all the Elder Scrolls in Anthology Pack 60 dollars for all 5. Dawnguard and Hearthfire came with TES5 Skyrim. Some one will comment soon with the information you want.

Yes, I think so. One of the homes you can build, Lakeview Manor, in Falkreath hold, just south of Riverwood, is my favorite.

Edit: P.S. Love your avatar.

Thank you Kaiser and every one else for your input and help in this matter, I shall go on with building my "home"....

Another option is to hire a steward (the UESP has a list of which followers can become your steward - I would avoid any of the mercenaries (Marcurio and the others who you pay 500 to accompany you) as they are quite buggy as stewards) and give them a bunch of gold to furnish the rooms. It takes a while, and it's probably a bit more expensive, but if you don't want to go traipsing around buying tons of iron it's worth considering. Usually they will put in a few bits of furniture at a time every time you leave the area and then come back (sometimes it takes longer, though, and you have to leave and come back several times).

It's worth building your own bed, and a couple of chests, though, as you don't really have any say over what they build first. It's definitely worth getting your steward to furnish the main hall, I'd say, because they get an enchanting table and alchemy lab which require a few somewhat expensive/harder to find ingredients, from what I remember. If you have the greenhouse, don't bother getting your steward to furnish it, as you only really need some clay, stone and a few bits of iron stuff, from what I remember.

It's my favorite too, random giants, wolves and bandits aside. They're the reason why I have to repurchase my cows and chickens all over again. Something always kills them.

Building on your own plot gives you the biggest house, but got to admit that living in the city has it pros too. If you're living in the country, make sure that your steward and spouse are skilled in battle. You'll need their skills.

That reminds me, don't use your Falkreath housecarl (Rayya) as your steward, get someone else, preferably a good fighter or mage, so you have two 'guards' on your property (assuming you don't take one of them off adventuring.) If you also marry a fighter rather than a decorative shopkeeper or the like, so much the better! I usually have Lydia as my steward if I've got her, as I rarely live in Breezehome, especially if I have Lakeview, so she'd normally be stuck up at Dragonsreach.

I have found Uthgerd the Unbroken is an absolutly fabulous steward. No bugs, good fighter, defends kids, house and spouse.
