Multiple houses
I have one house in White Run. I'd kinda like the alchemy shop there to restock her shelves so I can steal from her again. Someone suggested that if I leave town for a month, she will restock. But will that also make my house reset? Will I lose all the iron ore in the dresser?

Oh, and while I'm asking. There is a wand of sparks and a wand of turn dead (or something) in that dresser too. I decided to hold on to them because I can't disenchant them and thought maybe I would be able to later on. Should I just sell them?

So I'm thinking of getting a second house and moving to another city. Any thoughts from you veterans out there? (no spoilers please)

Thx

I have played about 600 hours (this time around) and never had posessions in an owned house disappear on me. I think your stuff is safe. And yes, I have owned a home in almost every city, some nicer than others. I liked the one in Markarth the best. It had alchemy and enchanting tables both inside. For disenchanting, I'm not sure if raising your enchanting skill will allow you to disenchant those items later on. Someone will post better information on here soon, I'm sure.

Is it possible to sell a house and furnishings and move like one does in real life?

Why not build your own. I have 3, you can put in what you want then!!.

Here is a storage tip. If you put too many items in a chest it will take a long time to search through the items. A longer time if you are retrieving several items on the list. Recommend spreading items throughout several chests, barrels, and bags.

Nah, houses will never respawn. If they were, they would be pointless.
You cannot sell your house. But you can buy as many as you want. I suggest you keep one as a main, where you dump important items used for later such as dragon priest masks.

By wand Im assuming you're referring to staffs? No you cannot disenchant them. You can make staffs (staves?) with the dragonborn DLC though.
No matter how low your enchanting skill is, you can always disenchant anything thats possible disenchanting.
Higher skill just make enchantments more powerful.

As for houses, stay away from the Windhelm house. It takes the most work to aquire and has the most bugs.
Just look at pictures of the houses in the wikis.

To have her restock her shelves just stay out of her shop for 30 days(unless modded for respawn time, I use 1 day globally just for the monsters). you can still travel in whiterun safely. things in your containers are fine other things you have placed may fall through the floor or just disappear all together. just be advised about leaving usefull crap lying around. also when you drop stuff it may fall through the floor so i suggest not doing that at all

Player owned houses are no reset zones, they won't respawn even if you have a respawning barrel in there.

Thats internal only, external is different, a barrel outside your house will respawn.

Solitude is probably the nicest vanilla house and if you have hearthifires and want a child bedrooom you donn't have to sacrifice an alchemy lab. If you have Hearrthfires you can build your own houses, quite large ones although it gets quite expensive.

There are mod houses and they're usually free.

SkyUI will sort them according to type and that makes it quick to find anything. What is a problem though if you have a lot of items it slows the game down to a crawl once you open the chest I have one chest in Breezehome takes 5 minutes to lift an item out
