ysolda is gone

Strange situation: my playing character lives in Lakeview Manor with wife Ysolda, two children, housecarl and steward Lydia. One day Ysolda was gone and could be found nowhere in or around the manor. I thought this could be some kind of bug so I tried to find Ysolda with the "moveto" console command. After I did that, I found here walking around somewhere in The Rift (??). Then I tried to get her back to Lakeview Manor also using the console. I got her back there, but she started walking away from the manor. Conversation topics are normal, no sign of a broken kidnap quest either. She just walks far away from where she should be.....any suggestions?

My mother would just up and run out on her husband and two kids, too. And everytime my dad brought her back, she'd eventually leave again. Some people just do that. Sorry man./jk

I don't own Hearthfires, but where is Lakeview Manor? If it is away from Whiterun, perhaps something has broken and she's trying to walk back there?

Something is affecting to her AI. It can be a mod, your own progress in the game or a bug.

Civil war can occasionally send Ysolda back to Whiterun. Sometimes NPCs don't take the shortest road to their destination, because their AI's see something blocking it.

If this is not the case, then save and wait to see where she is headed, so maybe we find out what has affected to her AI. Otherwise you might make sure that Unofficial patches are installed and to verify the integrity of your game cache. Not much else to go on right now.

On a rainy day it might be interesting just to follow Ysolda and see where she goes. Verify game cache integrity is worth trying as well. I'll keep you informed if interested.

Or use wait function to give her enough time to travel and then use moveto command. ;)

She's given up on trying to find a "divorce the PC" mod...

Maybe ... if you excuse my tongue in cheek she's carrying an amulet of mara hoping to get lucky in Riften! :D
Do you have any marrige mods?
Or mods the effect Npcs?
If so try disabling them the mods fast forward a day and see if anything has changed ?!

Obviously save before trying any of these following steps!

The most extreme thing to try might be to remove everything she is carrying Via dialogue if you can or with console openactorcontainer 1 making sure you get the wedding band !

Then with console open and clicked on her Disable enter enable enter close console and check that she is back! You may need to go to her if she was wisked away make sure if her inventory has a wedding band so that she is still considered your wife..... !

If all that doesn't work spank her for misbehaving perhaps!!

Eternie and Ilja: It seems that your comments are the most useful so far. I have quite a few mods installed. The last mod i installed was one for adjusting marriage options and multiple marriages but as far as I can remember she was strolling around before already. I haven't used it in a way it affects the game that much so I can always try an uninstall.

move the family and see if her AI resets. maybe you were a bad spouse. abusive, drinker, or do you cheat on her? Put her back in line.

It was the multiple marriage / marriage overhaul mod after all. For some reason she walked from Riften to Lakeview manor and back over and over again.....uninstallation solved the problem.
