Console Commands Crit Chance
Good day everyone,
I was playing arround and testing some console commands for example critchances.
So there is also a command that shows the actual value of each command -> player.getav or GetAV
I set critchance to 100 which means 100% critrate.
The question is whats the default value for the critparameter? I set it back to 0 and put 2 perks in crit (sword crit) which should give me extra 10 or 15% crit when using swords... so tested getav-> critchance and it still shows me 0%
btw if necessary i changed the crit value with "forceav" not modav or setav.

greez

The vanilla # is 0.00, checked in game just outside helgen cave unmodded save #1. 1 is 100%, .5 is 50%. You may have to reset the skill points for them to take effect. I hope you did this on a throwaway character and not your main one. Your best bet is to setav 0, then use the book Waking Dreams from Dragonborn to reset your skills.
The console was designed as a debug tool for the developers, not a cheat engine. Things can go wrong with your save and may happen much later. If you want a tweaked character, the safest way to do it is just outside the Helgen cave with a new character using batch files. But even this can cause issues.

Hope thus helps!!

wooh thanks for replying!
tell me, whats vanilla? ive also never heard of that waking dreams book <.< to bad its my main..actually never had problems while using the commands, its just not really save to know whats happening in the background...my invinsible values may be different now from "uncheated" saves

Vanilla means no mods. The book comes from the Dragonborn DLC. It allows you to reset skill points.

Yeah it's strange how the getav critchance works for Skyrim, in Fallout New Vegas when ever I consoled in my crit chance it would show me exactly how much I would have.

Yea, I don't mess with those numbers that are dynamic. Can really mess up the combat calculations. When I make a cheat character, I do it with a bat file right outside helgen cave. The only numbers I change are the ones visible in the menus.
