A dragon in gloombound mine?
I was just going into Gloombound Mine to mine some ebony ore but for some reason I have encountered a bug where a dragon has spawned and is causing a lot of havoc preventing me from mining anything at all. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this type of bug?

Do you have deadly dragons or Dragon combat overhaul?

Only Blackreach has a named dragon down there, look for BIG yellow ball and then shout all 3 words of Unrelenting Force at the yellow ball

It's in the Orc Stronghold near Windhelm, the name escapes me at the momment. Best Ebony mine in the game.

There should NOT be a dragon in a mine. Doesn't exist in the game. Either it's a bug, or you've installed a mod that adds this.

In either case, the solution is to kill the dragon. :-) You can either kill it via traditional methods, or use the console to kill it. Then continue mining.

Hi guys unfortunately I don't have any mods that overhauls the dragon combat and it is impossible to kill him as he keeps flying through the walls

kill dragon, then click on him (after pressing ` or ~), MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EXACTLY CLICKED on him or this will not work, then after doing so type markfordelete and it should remove the skeleton, if you miss though, there will be permanent hole in the game where you missed

Probable reason is, dragon attacked as you entering mine and it follow you in, like some person talks to you as you enter your house in Whiterun. Just a glitch.

I had a dragon in the same location, pretty vanilla profile: no DCO, no deadly dragons. What helps:

open the console and make sure no number is on the top of the screen. If there's a number click somewhere till it goes away.

type tai -> the dragon should now stop warping around
if you can't select him, type tcl and fly to the marker on the compass
click the dragon type markfordelete followed by disable
if you tcl'ed fly to a floor space
open the console, make sure, no number is selected, type tai
if you tcl'ed type tcl again

Thanks lollipop I will need to try it, hopefully it works. Just wanted to make a quick dash to 100 smithing but this is annoying the hell out of me.

I don't really recommend using this, but if you're going to use markfordelete then it's worth first disabling (by typing disable) the thing you want gone, this will make it invisible, and then you can markfordelete it, or if it turned out you clicked on the wrong thing, just type enable, then close the console, it should reappear.

In my case I took a stab at using nexus mod manager to disable the unofficial skyrim special edition patch. When I went to run it, there were a few other mods that were listed as dependent on the special edition patch. I disabled those also. When I went back in the mine, the dragon was stuck in one of the corner sections of the mine. lol. I pumped a lot of arrows into it, but it would not die, where normally 5 or so good shots from my bow will critically wound a dragon. I left the mine and exited with the dragon still alive. Then for the heck of it, I re-enabled the special edition patch and went back in the mine. When I approached the dragon, it immediately began burning out as if it had just died. So far so good after this nonsense. I guess long story short, try disabling recent or major mods/patches one at a time and try the mine again. I realize that it's trial and error but in my case it just happened to work. Good luck.
