Shalidors Insight Bug: No Book

Hi !

I've encountered a bug in this quest. The white quest marker just hovers over where the book should be. But even using the tlc console commands to go through walls, I can't see or otherwise find the book. Are there any workarounds? :(

Mm I don't believe I have a quest called that. I do think it was Fellglow cave though or something. Definitely a cave at least. The book just isn't there. But the white quest marker is.

Isn't there a console command to put the book in my inventory?

Yes, try this first. Not sure it will work and I am at work so I can't try it first. Open the console and type in
prid 000f6275
moveto player

Exit the console and see if it there. If that doesn't work then,
player.placeatme 000f6275

Well you can add the book by console however there's a chance you have to update the quest also, because the stage is connected to the find itself. However there's also a chance it won't work. I had it once with the forgemasters fingers not present on the location tried adding it by console and setting the stage didn't work ... reverted to an earlier save.

It doesn't seem to work. It says the code is invalid and that the compiler hasn't been saved.

Alright so after many mistakes, it worked ! But the quest didn't advance. So I'm still pointed to the place where I originally can't (even now with the unnoffical skyrim patch installed) find the shalidors writings book. So while I have the book in my inventory thanks to you, I can't actually give it to Urag at the college. Damn.

Ah okay... So since I don't have an earlier save I'd like to go back to, I'm stuck with this quest forever. Unless I try the console. Argh. Okay, well thanks for all the help guys :)

Go to the library and type setstage mgr21 20 . Try giving him the book. If that doesn't work then finish the quest with setstage mgr21 200
