Needing help and new to Steam ...

Hello, first off i hope everyone is enjoying thier day!!!

Second does anyone know how i contact Steam Technicall support direclty?? i cannot seem to find a link or contact number/ email to do so. Thank You !!

And third,, is anyone else haveing issues with the load screen ie, game starts, but the game/start/continue/new ect game dialog is missing with only the skyrim logo showing??

My task manager says the game is fine( as is no n hasnt "stopped responding" messge )

Last and today i have checked the validty of both skyrim and the SKSE, yesterday skyrim said it couldnt validate 6 files ( or whatever it ment) and would reaquire, checked it again after and still has one that cannot be validated and will be reaquired.( rechecked again this morning same one file cannot validate messege)

Just checked SKSE This Morning as a hind site and it says 46 files couldnt be validated n will reaquire..

I just bought this game like three days ago n downloaded from here and worked fine the first day...

I have no conflicting nor dirty edit mods and even unchecked the oness i had to see if issue was on my end, same results with or withoput mods. Load dialog is still missing!!!

How long does it take to "reaquire" ??

It happened after i closed out steam n reopend n steam updated.

Has anyone else been experiencing this themselves and if so have you been able to correct said problem?? i am very frustrated right now :( and been reading forums n online n have not been able to find a fix....


Thank you to ANYONE who can help and or give me info to contact steam direct as i have aslo contacted bethesda tech team off the skyrim tesv loader, with no respones back from them..( i know they are not updating skyrim but figured couldnt hurt to exaust all avenues for assitance. okay i am completly baffled now..... SKSE shortcut on my desk top will load to complete screen and allow me to access my saved games, however it will not activate most of the mods( yes i checked compatabilty n only have at current 7 dirty edits but it will still run smoth while game play, excpet the missing dialog to buy lumber :)

However when i try to launch it through NMM or through steam both game n SKSE version and desk top game version it's STILL NOT LOADING THE LOAD GAME DIALOG .. which is very weird as game works! i been playing it off n on on the SKSE desktop short cut but cannot figure out what modds are activated in it yet, been mostly troubleshooting again all day :( well thats my update as tro date......bout to start a new game to see if mods load on a new one off the desk top short cut of SKSE until this can be figured out..game doesnt crash , it just wont load the damn dialog :) good night all n blessed be! actually gonna try one last thing before restarting a new game and that is to delete the " sarcastic load screan" maybe that may just b the cuulpri,t she says with fingers crossed, lol ..wish me luck n will update if i find a fix! Good night ~K

I just reinstalled 136 mods for a playthrough im gonna do tomorrow...Took a while to get things sorted. You mentioned dirty edits; Unless the mod author says otherwise, ALWAYS clean the mods you download. If you don't do this, then you will have an unstable game which might crash on you when you've possibly gone through an advance playthrough. You will need TES5 Edit to clean mods and also, you will need proper load orders for your mods. The utility LOOT does just that for you so that you can be sure that everything is in order. If you still have problems, tell me what mods you are using and i'll do a step by step tutorial on how to install those mods for you ! Cheers

No problem, but Loot doesn't always recognise dirty edits in all mods; So its best to just check them all...at least that what I do. Not so bad when its a few mods....

Do NOT clean your mods, unless you know that cleaning is required. You can not trust LOOT recommendation in this. It only detects edits, but it does not know if those edits are needed or not.

Modern mod authors are aware of the problems related to dirty edits in mods. They do clean them out. In most cases, what is left there is required for mod to function. Removing them will cause problems and may render the whole mod unusable.

Check from the mod support thread if cleaning dirty edits is a good idea or if those edits are actually required. If you are unsure, then consider them required and leave them be.

The best person to ask about questions related to these edits in this forum is Nazenn. He is hosting a thread about state of different mods. Check his thread and notes against your mods. You can also ask about them there. Either he, or someone else watching the thread closely, will be likely to reply.

Note that list goes deeper than OP. It also has a list of previously problematic mods that have now been fixed.

okay update of sorts...I CAN ONLY GEY SKYRIM TO LOAD FULLY IN ADMIN MODE USING THE SKSE LAUNCHER ITSELF!! It will loadonlyn some mods but i have yet to figure out how its picking and choosing them

.. if i try to load skyrim through anyother option ie, NNM, SKSE on steam, reg game on steam and reg game on NNM or off TESV it will only load to the skyrim logo..no dialog to continue nor sart game and game is still running, has no " not responding messege in task manager".

.i HAVE TRIED all suggestions here a alot from YOUTUBE and nothing, still the same. THE GAME DOES NOT CRASH, runs perectly fine through the SKSE launcher itself...... so i am lost, completely lost cause i wish to load from either steam or NNM to get full acceess to my installed mods.

here is an example,of what its doings as far as uploaded n ingame mods at present i have all towns updated however in game only solitude been overhauled.... got my chaet cheat to buld lakeview but the enhance lake view mods not working.... just to start..

. is ther a way to copy checked plug ins into SKSE itself as it is working but again only runnig few mods n i no idea whats up with that.pr how to tell which exact ones its loading as its loaded some from both steam and nexus

. no issues as far as i can tell with conflics then again if there was i wouldnt be pltaying a non stuittering, non crashing game off the SKSE LOADER...

..i have uninstalled n reinstalled NMM and SKSE serval times n deleted exess files, checked witth the validate buttons on both SKSE and skyrim, checked correct version on ~ console coomand in game and have no issues..

. i just do not know why everywhere else it will only load to the dang nam skyrim symbol

i will if i can figure out how to give you guys my load list n order off LOOT at the end. tho it has some errors lol mostly is the skyrim area if i clean them then validate skyrim puts them back so i guess there are needed...

again i had all these loaded fine and game worked prior to me installing the non pirated version and then it even ran fine once after. setting config t high but i hacew tried medium n low and still load screan is not working proper so i honeslty believe it is not a mod problem as once again i was just playing on SKSE loader only.....

Okay.... Thats a LOT of mods, and I do mean A LOT !

But let's get back to basics: -When you went legit, did you uninstall the pirated copy THEN made a clean install with the steam version ?

-And what is the amount of vram on your graph card ?

My guess is this: Either your PC (your graph card) can't handle that many mods, or you reached / went over skyrim's limitations ( 4gb max went it comes to mods (or is it 3gb? i forget) ).

It could also be that with THAT many mods, you are missing quite a lot of patches for them to work properly together. And sometimes, mods simply wont work with another one, thats just how things are.Also, did you read each mod's discription and how to install them ? They sometimes require more than just the base game to play.

And what did you mean by "plugins" for SKSE ? If you are thinking of the mods, they don't go into SKSE folder, they go in your data folder and thats for the esm/esp. Other mods, such as textures, go into textures/meshes.

Or if you have windows 10. it could be just that. I think W10 has like a verification system for all folders/files installed; Although, i am really not sure. I think i read this a while back, it might have changed since then.

But my strong guess is, you went over the top of skyrim's limitation for mods support.

So i dont know; maybe try cutting half the mods in you mod list and see if the game launches,
or start from scratch, a clean install of skyrim. Then install SKSE and run the game with no mods. After, if everything works, start adding mods like 5 at the time and see what happens.

FYI, plugin limit is 255 or 256. No technical limit on mods.

i dont mean the plugin limit, but the amount of ram used by the mods; if you go over (3 or 4 gb i forget), skyrim will not work. Its an engine limitation thing

Yep, somewhere around 3.5 if the memory patch is set up through SKSE. Around 2.5 without the patch. Going from memory so my numbers may be off a little.

I get what you are saying and yes i uninstalled everything skyrim related before downloading paid version,

i have deleted all mods and reinstalled,

i am not over vram limit n its 4g in legit copies now,

it all worked for a day on all loaders with no glitches and ran smooth with low fps on high graphics...

when i loaded in these mods, the problem is not the mods as i am able to load game and play game throught the this file extension ..SKSE loader EXE from SKSE zip file ONLY!

! i play it in admin mode and it works just fine, tho it isnt loading all the mods.... it is taking some from steam and some from nexus... i figure its prob only loaded maybe ten so far n the mesh overhaul...

the problem i am haviong on all other loaders is no matter on reg mode or admin mode the game will not load past the icon on the start screen, it is still functioning correctly as task manager does not give me the unresponsive error on it.....

THE PROBLEM IS WHEN THE SCREEN LOADS IT WILL NOT LOAD THE DIALOG TO CONTINUE GAME/START NEW ECT..

But it does load perfectly fine within seconds on the SKSE loader exe file no issues at all there on that level...

I have deleted all prior game saves and this one i am playing now is a new game i just started...

but again runs smooth, graphics are working at high like stated configured for, tho i have tried to load the other skyrim loaders on low n medium to see if that had an effect which it did not...

so again, trying to open n run skyrim through steam on reg game and the SKSE loader in steam , as well as both on the NMM and any shortcuts i had made prior which have now been deleted ( shortcuts i mean) and whheather i run in reg or admin mode all THOSE WILL ONLY LOAD TO THE SKYRIM LOGO N MIST ON START SCREEN, with NO DIALOG showing ..even tried clicking in the area it was in to see if it just didnt show but was her anyways. nothing it doesnt load up...

and again IT DOES LOAD FINE ONLY IN SKSE LOADER EXE which i made into a shortcut on desktop n origional file is still in game folders were they originate to once you install SKSE...

so if its able to load in that seperate file, which show it does work..why wont it load in the other areas?? i even left for several hous just incase running it through programs caused the load to slow down n still nothing and again the task manager says game is running fine....

i have also dleted ALL mods and tried to load game through all the problem loaders to still have the same issue with NO MODS ADDED....

so again, yes i have alot of mods but i trouble shooted that issue n it makes no difference if none , one , ten or all installed, these other avanue to launch skyrim from , ie, steam n nexus mod manager both reg n skse versions WILL NOT load dialog to play game...

but i am playing soley through SKSE Loader exe file with no issues cept it didnt load all mods and i have no list of what they did load, or at least i dont know how to find it, i saw a log but it listed like four when i have seen ingame more than the ones listed...

so again i honestly do not believe its a mod or a mod load order, i beleieve its an in program game loader problem ( possibly a reneder problem in game maybe)

t the only thing left i can think of trying is to uninstall my paid version n resistall it but its downloaded on steam n am unsure how to do so, and hen do the same with same with NNM and reinstall both after the egame rinstalls,( case its a ingame issue)

but i do not wish to lose current mods , saved game loss is not an issue with me as i been troubleshooting games n deleteing until i am able to play with what i want n can pick n chose to dlete what i may not like from my list....

hence the question of asking if i was able to add mods/pluins lol whaatever the correct terminology is :) directly into SKSE..cause if i could of i would of just done that n continue with the game i am able to play lol

i have been trouble shooting for week plus now, trying this n that n replaceing back to was if suggestions didnt work ie you tube vids.here i left the suggestions as seen fit..

i am bout five days away from major hip surgey and this pc was bought n built specific to play high to ultra with overclocking which i do not use , not there in my learning to even bein to undertand what overclocking does lol....

so i do appreciate all the suggestions n i welcome them!!!!

you all have been at this longer than me, former xbox 360 lvl 225 but got bored of lack of personal choices n things i thought needed improving , so between my frustations with xbox version n surgery my husband and step-son and son who are a major pc advocate( the kidds r stumped too on this issue) built me this from all my specification on what i wanted to be able to do in the game with knwowinhg i would push the mod/plug in limit to just before breaking point :)

so anywho, please keep suggestions coming as i am sure in futeure i may not be the only one who will experience this glitch or whatever it may b and it would be nice to finally figure out the culprit n fix so that we can share with others if it happens to them lol but leave it to me to be the first one with this problem lol boy i have all the luck, Not lol lol :)
