Esc and Tab don't work

As you can guess from the title, my Esc and tab key don't work. At first, you might think it's because my keyboard is probably broken, but no, it's not because Esc and Tab are actually perfectlly fine, they just mysteriously stop working during gameplay.Another weird thing is, Shift + Tab still opens steam menu during gameplay, but Tab by itself doesn't do anything. Does anyone have any idea on what's going on or know how to fix the problem?

Go into "Settings" and reset to key map to default. Exit. Relaunch. Test, and if keys work: Reset any custom key bindings.

I can't acess the setting since Esc doesn't work

no, the only settings I can acess in the luncher are the video settings, not the control settings

Go to your my documents > my games > skyrim folder and delete skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini and run the game

actually, I opened my quest journal by pressing J and accessed the control settings from there and did what you said and reset the key bindings to defult so everything is fine again, thanks.
