Use this mod:
Mfg Console: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44596/?
That way this mod can show you what you are about to disable instead of randomly figuring out each ID code to whatever it is you clicked on.
open the console
click on them
type "disable" for them do disappear or "resurrect" for them to be revived
close the console
Open console
Click on the body you want gone
Type in 'Disable'
*Then*
Type 'MarkForDelete'
Just disabling the body will render it invisible, uncollidable, and uninteractable - but it will still be loaded with the cell. As far as the game is concerned, its still there.
MarkForDelete will have the body deleted at the next cell clean up.
Alternatively, you can try going to a vanilla, interior cell (one which has been amended by a mod - such as the Winking Skeever which often has new NPCs added - may be okay, one which has been added or greatly overhauled - such as a heavily modified Breezehome - probably is best not used for this) with none of these dead bodies lying around - preferably in a separate hold, or at least not the same city, e.g. don't use even a vanilla Breezehome if your issues are in Whiterun - and wait for 31 days using the wait menu. This should give everything a chance to reset, which won't happen if you keep visiting the city. For cities, ten days is *probably* enough, but if you're having dead stuff stay in place for long periods of time, it may well be happening with wilderness cells, too, so best to try and let everything reset.
While I'm here, do you have the Unofficial Skyrim Patch and the related patches for any DLC? I believe the USKP is meant to fix the issue with ash piles not getting deleted, but it can only generally prevent things from happening after it's installed, not fix them retroactively after installation.
@ChAoTic, I'm old school and don't actually use Nexus haha. I'll probably get round to using Nexus when I get a new PC but for now, I'll try and make do without. Thanks for the link though, I'll bookmark it for when I need it one day. :)
@bobczes Is there any benefit to using this over the console command recommended by Incunabulum? I'll admit to being not entirely sure what purging an entire cell does. :s
@Incunabulum Thank you! I will try this when I can and see if it works. :)
@gnewna Yes, I think it might be more of a bug. That particular vampire attack in Whiterun left Nazeem dead (hurray), Meeko dead, a dead vampire, 2 dead thralls and a dead Stormcloak soldier. Most of tho bodies I listed did get removed after a few days but the 2 ash piles (I'm not entirely sure who they were) and Meeko's body still persist after many months even with large periods of time where I don't visit Whiterun.
And yes, I had all the unoffical patches installed before the attacks occured. :s
(Btw it's generally better to start your own thread than to 'necro' an old one.)
a) You really don't want to see them ever again (dead or alive), or...
b) Their refID starts with FF.
Many "random spawns" are really just the same NPCs revived over and over again (heck, I've even had some long-time Dead Thralls come back to "true" life while following me, at which point they tried to run off back to their dungeons or where ever I first collected them from). References beginning with FF are the only ones which are generated "on the fly" and thus truly disposable.
