Power of the Elements: Second pedestal bugged.

I found the first pedestal, activated it, retrieved the book, and found the second. However, I can't activate the pedestal. I the activation button (A on my controller) but nothing happens. I tried dropping the book via console then adding each of the various reference ID's back to my inventory, but that didn't help. I reloaded to the point before I messed with the console, went to the quest giver, who gave me another book. I take the new book to the first location, activate the pedestal again, then go to the second pedestal. Same problem as before.

Where are you going for the second pedestal?

That's the correct one. Try casting the cheapest frost spell you have, like frostbite

I tried that, hoping the book was just invisible or something. Nope.

Just to clarify, after the first pedestal does the book actually return to your inventory when you retrieve the book as it tells you?

Edit: When you go to place the book on the pedestal is your crosshair looking directly at the surface that holds the book and not at the lower portion of the pedestal?

Yes, the book goes back into my inventroy. I'm not sure where I'm pointing my crosshairs. Just that I see "Activate" and then the A-button. I also read the book after the first time. I didn't just go online to find out where I was suppose to go.

[edit] Though I did go online after I failed utterly to try to see what I was doing wrong. This is porbably just one of those Skyrim quest bugs.
