Report a translation problem
If you do not want to restart, you could always console command every prisoner/hostile person and set them to allied. Not sure of the command for said command (probably something like set.faction xxxx), as I usually screw over something whenever I use the console. Also not sure if that will break the quest further for any reason, as the console is a very fickle beast when it comes to questlines.

Other than that, starting over is the only option I can think of. The scripts are in there from the very beginning of the game.
Also, on a different save. Only the stormcloaks in Morthal's camp attacked me but not the commander. All the other camps were fine. couldn't find out why that happened, or how to fix it.
