- One of the many mods that make nights and dungeons pitch black without a torch

- The mod that makes weapons more deadly so you have to either block or use stealth

- Immersive HUD

I`m currently running over 450 mods with a modpack called Skyrim : The Journey. You can get it here : http://forums.goha.ru/showthread_0_0_p152425847#post152425847

Its very immersive... You have to have a beefy computer and graphics card to handle it... I`m running between 15 and 30 fps depending on where I am and what time of day it is... Time for an upgrade me thinks... But its playable...

It has permadeath, which means when you die, you die and cannot reload your saves for that character... I`ve deleted the esp file for that mod.... I`m not that good a player.

Its very easy to install, just remember to change the screen mode to borderless before you start the game.. Follow the instructions to the letter and you`ll be ok. There is a readme file to help you.

Thats if you want this pack... I recommend it. The author of the modpack has gone to great lengths finding all the mods that are compatible.

nobody wet and cold a must have with frostfall. NEVER EVER use mod packs. Btw ever considered not everybody talks Russian and wants to download from a Russian site? 15 to 30 FPS is for me unplayable

"The Journey" is a mess. It is poorly managed, mods are not fully compatible with each other and out of date. The uploader has not considered resource priorities at all and has actually recommended that users would not use LOOT to sort the presented order - that is very badly busted by default.

Before anyone starts arguing about this, I will pull a card that I usually don't pull: Yes, I do know better. I have watched enough mod collections and load orders to recognize pile of BS when I encounter one.

I usually try to be polite here, but I really have to say this out loud. Person who uploaded it was a complete idiot. Seeing that all that I said above can be conformed from our PINNED TOPICS, peoples using that "mod pack" will top the uploader. :steamfacepalm:

And to top of that:

^ Every word from this is true. If the idiot who uploaded the content would have known what he/she was doing, then it could have been easilly optimized. :steamfacepalm: :steamfacepalm: :steamfacepalm:

Something that you may be interested with Frostfall.

Real Shelter - Full Release by ThreeTen
This mod was made for Frostfall and covers Skyrim so that rain does not come trough the roofs of sheltered areas. For Frostfall this means that you can actually stay dry, or dry up, under a cliff or a roof. Current version works properly, but does not have a full support for Frostfall 3 yet.

Setting it up may feel a little strange, because it requires running TES5Edit. However, the process is fully automated, so you basically just need to run the patcher file, click "Yes" when asked and be done with it, when RSPatcher is finished.

No snow under the roof by Prometheus
Something that makes a real difference in atmosphere, especially when we are talking about sheltered areas. Mod ads 3d snow to roofs that should have it and clears snow under sheltered areas.

More of a weather specific than Frostfall specific. It is still fun to see your footprints around the camp, when you are resting in snowy areas.

Wonders of Weather by isoku
With Frostfall and Campfire, you are going to spend much more attention to weather. Seeing a rare rainbow, or getting a change to witness shooting stars on night sky will add to that experience.

The next one is simply just a recommendation that is not directly tied to Frostfall or weather. However, it does have twists that might affect your travels.

Skyrim has festivities! If you do decide to install this mod then pay note to where you camp during special nights. You may end up witnessing something else than shooting stars.

Well, I'm liking the Journey mod pack so far. I haven't hit any bugs as yet but then I'm not far enough into the game yet to actually see any. Thanks for the words of warning tho, and I will certainly consider just using the more up to date versions of the best mods in the pack.

I've managed to optimize my gaming experience with it and am now getting 30 - 40 fps with an hd 6950 2gb card.

At nearly 57 GB my Skyrim game folder is a tad bloated. Only time will tell if it was worth it or not.

If I sounded strict above, it was not guided against you. It was a general warning and annoyance toward that pack that is indeed badly designed and managed. I hope that you can understand that.

It is not your game folder bloating that I am worried about. I am more worried about your save files getting bugged and bloated, preventing you from continuing the game. There is a very high change for it, seeing that dropping this pack to Data folder is very likely to cause situations, where wrong mod resources win conflicts against needed once - not only in load order, but among script resources.

Please read trough pinned Player spreadsheet from this forum. Pay attention to my "Little Big Mods" and "Load order and Resource Priority Basics" posts, as well as Nazenn's list of dangerous and problematic mods. You could also check out his other posts about tools like Wrye Bash.

If you do check them trough, then you will understand why I am so strongly against this mod pack and how much potential problems it holds.

In the end, the choice is yours.

Thanks for the advice... I think I`ll completely uninstall the pack and re-install Skyrim... Then, I`ll just get individual mods for the game and build up from there.

I`m not new to modding, I just wanted to take the quick and easy route.

Cheers.

No need to uninstall, just make Skyrim vanilla
Make sure you are unsubscribed from all the workshop mods, then follow this guide: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Make_Skyrim_Vanilla_Again
You can leave in the files for the DLC as well if you have them which I don't think that guide mentions, and if you have the hi res dlcs then you can leave in the third esp and bsa, but otherwise its all set

Great. That was very kind of you to help me out.

NP, saves bandwidth and time. Cut your download down by more than half.
Blood Vipre Nov 18, 2015 @ 12:40pm
I`m half way through.... All I need now are some suggested mods, that will give me more or less the same experience as that bloated out pack.....

Frostfall is something I really like, darker nights and dungeons is a must... No fast travel.... Better looking npc`s. Better environment, graphics, enb. Overhauled cities etc. New lands to explore, new quest lines..... etc... etc....
