Marriage proplems in Skyrim.
So I didn't play skyrim for a while until a few days ago, which I started a new playthrough. When I did a few quests and stuff I came across the miner Perth and decided I'd like to marry him and have him live with me and Lucia in Whiterun. So I do the norm, approach him with my amulet of Mara after finishing his quest, arrange the wedding and wait a few hours til I can attend. Everything goes by normal until Maramal finishes the ceremony saying the regular ''Oh you are married now heres a ring'' but I never got a ring and it said that I had failed the wedding ceremony leaving Perth and everyone else angry with me. Not only did this happen with Perth but every other person I attempted to marry. I removed many mods to see if that might have been the source of the proplem but it's not apperantly. I have an older save where My character Raulin is married to Vilkas. Can anyone help me identify the proplem or give me some helpful hints?

unfortunately by removing mods you may still have scripts active. Have you used LOOT to sort your load order? if so, copy that load oreder here. if not, you need to.

The marriage part in Skyrim is one the worse scripting job I ever saw. It works, but after so many desimmersive efforts it's simply better to forget about the whole quest. If there was a mod to take it out of the game, it should be included in Vanilla. My worse Skyrim memory. 'hate it, just by thinking about it, even today.

Not to put words in his mouth but I think he is saying that the option to remove marriages should be included in the vailla game. it is. do not marry.

comparing it to some of the quest scripting it is nowhere near as bad. however some of the npcs are bugged to heck when marrying them and probably should be removed from the marrige faction. Companions I am looking at you.
