i encountered Kitria after having visited and picking up the aetherium shard at Mzulft storeroom. i have returned to the storeroom to heat the warped soulgem and there she is. but since i already have the aetherium shard all she does is stand there and tell me to take it. i looked in wiki but couldnt figure how to call up the codes i needed to complete just this part. i dont want the whole thing finished as i still have 1 shard to find. any help here? as i have said before not a pro modder so any ref as to where the help comes from would be appreciated too. thanks

What you may have to try is drop the Aetherium shard in question, toss it on the ground and pick it back up.

Make sure you make a backup hard save before messing with console.

Open console and type:

drop xx00575c
drop xx01433e
drop xx01433c
drop xx01433d

XX = where Dawnguard is located in your load order. It will either be 02, 03, or 07, but can be other numbers.

You can also try adding one to your inventory using console after you drop it, but you have to figure out which of the four shards it is and don't accidentally add any of the shards that you haven't gotten yet if any as it may mess up the quest further.

i tried the drop command with no luck....every code entered says "missing parameter count". what am i missing....DG is LO 03 and index 4. i used 03 and 04 with item numbers above and got the same error. tried "drop" "dropitem" "drop item" and "drop.item" also....no luck.

i walked up to where the shard sits and entered the commands. it took the commands but never dropped the shard nor did it remove them from inventory. i have used tild successfully for some magic so i know how to use console, unless you are calling something else console. am i missing something?

honestly if someone could help just end this part of the quest without completing the whole quest i would be good....i already have the shard so my real goal is just to get her to move on so as not to ruin continuity and i have never completed the whole quest before and was hoping to do that this run through.

Open your console and type in sqo What exactly does it say about this quest? You can use page up / page down keys to scroll through the results.

Just pick it up and leave, go find the last piece, need all 4 pieces before you interact with her again at the forge.

You are not stuck. You need to go find the last shard. Katria will show up there once you do, then she will point you in the right direction to find the forge. Her showing up is triggered by entering the dungeon where the shard is located. If she is stuck there in the 3rd dungeon it does not matter as moving on to the next one will respawn her there. I have found all 3 of the other shards before even meeting her first. The quest sections are locationally triggered. It should proceed normally once you get the dungeon that holds the last shard.

ok thanks guys. kelvy yes i did pick it up and i have looked at it but have so much going in other quests i havent gone by it. cfs thinking about it today that was my next question; if i keep going will it all work out? thanks for your help here. i will just move on and meet her again later.

It should, this is a very stable quest. As I mentioned a lot of it's triggers are locational instead of dialogue or item related. Just keep going, if it stops on you repost, I or someone else will help you get it started back up again. Go to this page and scroll down to the bottom, the chart there will show why I ask for that list of quest numbers. As you can see you are still moving correctly.
