Dragons not spawning?
I've already cleared the Kynesgrove quest and have beaten down several dragons at word walls, but I've yet to come across them in the wild. Is there a reason why they're not spawning?

That happens to me sometimes. The encounters are random until a set point.(A Blade in the Dark - turnes them off, I believe) If you do the Diplomatic Immunity quest it should fix the problem.

As far as I remember the amount of how often those "random" dragons spawn depends on how far you are into the main quest (the further, the more).

Yeah, but I also remember them spawning after Kynesgrove. Thusfar I haven't encountered many. I think partially it's because I'm using a no-fast-travel mod, since Falkreath/Dawnstar usually have loads of encounters when you fast travel to them.

They do often spawn after Kynesgrove. But I've had them not do so, even up to level 30 or so. But mod-issue or not, finishing the diplo quest as I mentioned, should fix the problem unless it is quite severe. If it doesn't then you know you have a major mod issue.

Guess I'll have to bug some Thalmer

ok...Handed all my equipment to Malbor, met up with Delphine and an Elder Dragon spawns...Good thing I crafted myself a flimsy Iron sword just for esthatics and that I have a decent Alteration cuz I've got nothing atm.

5 minutes in, dragon lost 5% hp.

sounds like fun.

Not really...Even with Oakflesh it killed me in two hits when it was at 50-60%...should've taken a bow instead of an iron sword :P

this may be the time to reload that save you made just before giving away all your stuff. Of course you made that save.

I had the auto-save from exiting Solitude, so I went back in, got myself a bow, and dragon never showed up. Saw him later on when I exited the Thalmor Embassy and he didn't really seemed interesting in fighting then...

for some reason when it spawns upon my exiting the embassy it always wants to fight me. oh well, I am glad it worked out for you.

They are random encounters. But their is a Dragon Combat Overhaul, I believe its called, and right now I am waiting to load my save where I walked out the door from the Bannered Mare and three or four dragons are now flying around Whiterun. I have a mod so the NPCs run inside, but I cannot count how many there are and they are whooping me! Get the Epic Gameplay Overhaul for the Dragons, the Fire and Ice Overhaul, Combat Drama, etc, etc. It is a really nice overhaul, and adding Deadly Combat and Locational Damage has made the game really hard and more immersive medieval combat.

I got stuck in ice surrounded by I think three Ice breathing dragons. Broke through it with my Orcish Greatsword and got flapped down to the ground with my Enhanced Camera giving the coolest feel. Yeah, get that dragon mod and then it gets real. Got flung into the woods from the Western Watchtower, lived, and still had to fight the dragon.

I have the Run inside from dragons and vampires mod. It's a must have mod imo due to otherwise losing npc's cuz they think themselves warriors' seconds after telling you that they dont like fighting.

I also have several mods that increase the dragon's strenght and also the Wyvern mod, which is 3 dragons for 1. Dragon's blood mod and dragonsouls for perks are two I also use.

Getting more mods at this point is counter to my gameplay. It already takes me ages just to get to a quest location due to fast-travel disabled mod. When I do come across a dragon, (last one I encountered was on top of a mountain between Windhelm and Winterhold, also a place were followers like to bug out. Thankfully bunny follower mod is unkilleable so I fusro'd him of the mountain after killing the dragon that had it's place nearby) it's still quite a long fight + I have to heal a lot. Thankfully that suits my restoration levels.

I've had several other dragon mods installed, one wherein dragons would also fight each other, could be the one you describe. But since I'm also using the Oblivion character mod and the Random starting location mod this tended to be quite the wrong plan. Landing between a feud between 3 dragons on level 1 with nothing but rubbish ain't exactly my cup of tea, also considering I've got a mod that disables all the icons from my compass and only shows the cardinal points.

I'd have to wait till a new character if I want to implement further mods.
